PM SHRI GMS Pihekhu upgraded to Government High School

Niuland, June 5 (MExN): Minister for Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, on Friday unveiled the plaque marking the upgradation of PM SHRI Government Middle School (GMS), Pihekhu to PM SHRI Government High School (GHS), Pihekhu in Aghunaqa Area, Niuland district.

Addressing the gathering as the special guest, Zhimomi said the objective of establishing PM SHRI schools across the country is to make India a global educational hub. He urged public leaders and department officials to make the best use of the opportunity to strengthen educational institutions in the area.

Stressing the role of parents in shaping the future of children, he said, “Our best gift to our children will be installing the real education in them.” He also appealed to GBs and public leaders to enrol their children in government schools, maintaining that some of the best qualified and trained teachers serve in government institutions.

Zhimomi further discouraged GBs, public leaders and School Management Committees (SMCs) from issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for teachers seeking transfers to urban and town areas, emphasizing the need to retain quality educators in rural schools.

Earlier, Senior Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) in-charge of District Education Officer (DEO), Niuland, Kitoshi Z Swu, thanked the Minister and the Education Department for supporting the upgradation of the school, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening educational opportunities in the Aghunaqa Area.

She also urged teachers to continue guiding students with dedication and commitment.

The programme featured a special song presented by the students of PM SHRI GHS Pihekhu. Akukatou Pihekhu Village, Ghoito Awomi, delivered the welcome address, while Hukato Zhimomi chaired the programme.
