Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): Acting on information from a reliable source about the possession of illegal arms, the Dimapur Police raided a house located near Tata Parking area, Khermahal on June 21 and arrested a person over possession of illegal arms.
The police recovered one 9mm pistol from the house of one Minto Sharma, S/o RB Sharma from Gorakhpur, UP. The recovered pistol was seized and the accused arrested for possession of illegal arms. A case has been registered against the arrested accused under the Arms Act, informed additional superintendent of police, Dimapur.
Also on the same day, two extortionists were arrested by the troops of 24 Assam Rifles from Chekiye Village area when the security personnel were conducting routine MVCP. The arrested duo was travelling in a Bajaj Discoverer bearing R/No NL07J0198 when they were stopped for checking on suspicion, the note stated.
On checking, two booklets of tax collection receipts bearing the name of Ministry of Chaplee Affairs, GPRN/NSCN along with cash amounting to Rs 2580 were recovered from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as one ‘ss’ RDSI Piketo Swo, 36 years of NSCN K s/0 Nixuto Swu and one ‘ss’ RSI Hukato Sema, 35 years of NSCN K s/o Viyekhu Sema both residents of Padumpukhri Dimapur. A case has been registered in
this connection.

Three nabbed
Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): Three persons were arrested on June 6 19 from Duncan Bosti by the troops of 24 Assam Rifles while conducting MVCP and seized one AK-56 rifle with magazine from their possession. According to the press release issued by Additional Superintendent of Police/PRO Dimapur the arrested were travelling in a red Wagon R R/No. NL 07C 1942 and they have been identified as ekato Achumi (27 years), Md Faiyal (55 years) and Mhabemo Ezung (26 years). A case has been registered against the arrested under the Arms Act.
