Police rescue four abducted persons

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 9 (MExN): Nagaland Police rescued four abducted persons from a hideout in Dimapur and arrested four persons on October 8 following an operation launched after receiving reports of a kidnapping.

According to a press release from Dimapur Police, reliable inputs were received that unknown persons had abducted one person from Patna, Bihar, from Hotel New Rajasthan Place. Acting immediately, a police team was constituted comprising personnel from East Police Station, the Special Operations Team (SOT), and the Indian Reserve (IR) Battalion under the supervision of senior officers.

The team collected technical inputs and was dispatched to suspected locations. After identifying the rough area where the victims were believed to be confined, an operation was conducted, resulting in the rescue of four victims within hours on the same day. Four individuals were arrested from the United North Block, Burma Camp area during the operation.

A regular case has been registered at East Police Station, and investigation is ongoing. Police identified the arrested persons as: Saul Chophy (48), Rajapeyu, NSCN (IM); Bento Shohe (37), Khapur, NSCN (IM); Kavito Yeptho (42), Tatar, NSCN (IM); and Kivipu Zhimo (21).
