The Power Department Junior Engineers’ Association (PDJESA) has declared its full support for the ongoing protest by the All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA), stating that the demands raised by the field workers are “genuine and long overdue.”

In a statement issued on April 14, PDJESA stressed the need for urgent government intervention to address the plight of electricity workers across the state. “These demands reflect the harsh realities and daily challenges faced by field workers who risk their lives to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people of Nagaland,” the association stated. “However, it is deeply disheartening that the government has continued to turn a deaf ear to their rightful concerns.”

PDJESA further asserted that “the welfare and safety of electricity workers must be a priority,” and urged the Government of Nagaland to take “immediate and sincere steps” to address the grievances raised by ANEFWA. The association assured that it would stand “in unwavering support” of the protest, describing it as a rightful call for “justice and dignity.”

“We call upon the government to engage in meaningful dialogue with the ANEFWA leadership and resolve the matter without further delay, in the larger interest of public service and employee welfare,” stated Er Medozhazo Rutsa, President of PDJESA.

The solidarity statement comes amid growing concern over the working conditions of electricity field personnel and their long-pending demands.
