In a display of unity and civic responsibility, the residents of Pungro Village have stepped forward together to support their local government school, Government Middle School (GMS) Pungro Village, by addressing persistent classroom dust issues and overcrowding, thereby creating a healthier and more conducive learning environment for both pupils and staff.
With a notable increase in student enrolment in recent months, the school has been grappling with overcrowded classrooms, prompting the community to step in and provide much-needed infrastructural assistance.

As part of this initiative, the community refurbished one of the school’s classrooms, measuring 70 feet in length and 20 feet in width, by laying a new concrete floor. Additionally, two new staircases, each measuring 10 feet by 10 feet were constructed to enhance accessibility and safety within the premises.
This commendable endeavour was made possible through generous contributions from a wide range of supporters including individuals, local groups, and various organisations. A total of 95 volunteers participated in the project, offering both labour and resources.

Key contributors included the School Management Committee, Pungro Village Council, Pungro Village Baptist Church, NVG Pungro Village, teaching staff, the Pungro Village Students' Union, and numerous well-wishers from the community.
Since its inception, GMS Pungro Village has served not only the children of Pungro Village but also students from neighbouring communities, establishing itself as an educational hub for the region.
In a statement, the school expressed gratitude to all community-based organisations, churches, individuals, and supporters who provided financial assistance, material donations, physical labour, and moral support improving the physical condition of the school but also reinvigorated the spirits of its students.
