Maligaon, September 25 (MExN): A 12-year-old boy in Malda has defined bravery by alerting the loco pilot of a speeding passenger train from crossing a rain damaged portion.
Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR in a press release stated that maintenance of track and other works was going on Bhaluka road yard on September 21. In one location where soil and the pebbles were washed away by the rain, Mursalin Seikh (12) son of a labour from the nearby village was also present in the yard with the railway staffs.
“On noticing the rain damage portion under the tracks, Seikh acted sensibly at that point of time and alerted the loco pilot of an approaching passenger train by waving his red shirt along with other on duty railway staffs,” De stated.
NF Railway authorities including Malda North MP Khagen Murmu along with Divisional Railway Manager of Katihar, Surendra Kumar today visited the boy’s house and rewarded him with a certificate and cash award.
