
GUWAHATI, AUGUST 29 (MExN): The Ministry of Railways has approved 37 stoppages for various express and passenger trains under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) to improve passenger convenience and meet long-pending demands.
In Assam’s Dima Hasao district, stoppages have been granted to the Agartala–Anand Vihar Tejas Rajdhani Express at New Haflong station and the Rangiya–Silchar–Rangiya Express at New Harangajao station. Kokrajhar station will now have a halt for the Dibrugarh–Lalgarh–Dibrugarh Express, while Senchoa Junction has been included for the Tambaram–Silghat Town–Tambaram Express and the Alipurduar–Silghat Town–Alipurduar Express.
Other approved locations include Goalpara Town, where trains such as the Kolkata–Silghat Town–Kolkata Express and the Ranchi–Kamakhya–Ranchi Express will halt, and Sorbhog, which will now see stoppages for the Delhi–Kamakhya–Delhi Express and the Tambaram–New Tinsukia–Tambaram Express. Basugaon has been included for the Sealdah–Sabroom–Sealdah Express, while Agomoni will have the Alipurduar–Silghat Town–Alipurduar Express. In the Barak Valley, Kayasthagram has been approved for the Agartala–Silchar–Agartala Express, and Katakhal Junction for the Guwahati–Silchar–Guwahati Express.
In West Bengal, Azamnagar Road will see halts for the Sealdah–Alipurduar–Sealdah Express, Sealdah–Sabroom–Sealdah Express and Sealdah–Silchar–Sealdah Express. Kumedpur, Sudhani, Taiabpur and Telta stations have also been approved for halts of the Katihar–Siliguri Town–Katihar Express and other long-distance services. Old Malda and Rautara will see improved regional connectivity with stoppages for DEMU and express services.
