Record haul of medals for AR School Medziphema

Dimapur, August 3 (MExN): The Assam Rifles as a part of their efforts for active engagement of children of its area for overall growth and development introduced Teakwon-do training for students of AR School Ghaspani which included students from the neighborhood since July 2009 under the supervision of L/Hav Murli M of 20 Assam Rifles, a qualified instructor who is a 2nd DAN black belt and a certified National Referee.
The effort of the children fructified during the 24th Nagaland State Teakwon-do Championship from July 27 to 29 at IG stadium, Kohima where 14 children represented Dimapur district and won the 2nd position in the championship in the state by winning six Gold, two Silver and three Bronze medals from amongst eleven participating districts.
Out of the Medal winners, six selected children will participate in the National Teakwon-do Championship. Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, IGAR(N) and Brig R Ravi, Cdr HQ 5 Sect AR appreciated the efforts of the School and 20 AR and complemented the children for their outstanding performance in the State Teakwon-do Championship and wished them good luck for their further challenges and championship.
