
Eleven arrested
Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): The Excise duty party under the command of K Shihai Yeptho, AIE recovered 1386 bottles of IMFL/Beer and 55 ltrs of country liquor during the period of September 9 to 18 at the New Field Excise Check Gate. In this connection eleven accused were arrested and penalized as per the relevant sections of NLTP Act 1989.
NOW condemned rape attempt
Kohima, September 20 (MExN): The Nerhema Women Organization (NWO) strongly condemned the attempted rape on one of its member on 16 September at 7.00 pm in Kohima by one Khrusazo Nienu of Chozuba village. The organization appealed all the right thinking citizens to condemn such kind of barbaric act and inhuman acts in the civilized society and also appealed the concern authority to award the accused a befitting punishment as per the appropriate law of the land. The condemnation note has been released by its Chairman Mezhütuoü chairperson and general secretary Rüüvinuo.
Mkg police checks traffic problem
Mokokchung, September 20 (DIPR): With the ever-increasing number of vehicles in Mokokchung Town, it has become a big problem for the commuters especially during the peak hours with traffic-jam like those of Kohima and Dimapur that causes much inconvenience to the citizens. Therefore in order to bring down traffic problem in the Town to a certain level the Police department along with the traffic Police personnel put up 150 metal boards in the Town with signs restricting or allowing for parking of vehicles in different locations as well as sign boards that indicates public places such as schools, market place etc where vehicles need to slow down. The work was carried out with an expense of around Rs.2 lakhs, which was contributed amongst the personnel and traffic police, Mokokchung.
Shops in Wokha directed to open till 5:00 pm
Wokha, September 20 (DIPR): It has been observed that the shops in the main commercial area of Wokha town shuts down by early afternoon giving a deserted atmosphere and also depriving the working citizens to do any shopping after office hours. This scenario also hampers full time functioning of the office and other commercial activities in the town. Therefore in pursuance to the decision of the joint meeting held on September 6 by District administration, Police and Wokha Town Council, it is hereby ordered that all shops should remain open till 5:00 pm, in the interest of the public. Police security by foot patrolling will be provided during the period to deter any undesirable atmosphere. This order comes into immediate effect till further review, and untimely closer of shops would entail cancellation of trade license.
PCF condemns incident
Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): The People’s Concerned Forum (PCF) Jalukie has strongly condemned and incident where intruders at Bohoto’s residence in Forest Colony Dimapur insulted the wife, whose duty has nothing related to the works of the intruders. A press note issued by PCF stated, “It is our moral duty to appreciate the good woks done by the faithful government servant. As we are all witnessing in the daily news. Rather the intruders have taken a law in to their own hand and threatening to life was uncalled for”. The PCF urges the concerned authority to give the befitting reply to the intruder’s for the larger interest of the general public. PCF also stated that it salute the sincere officers and staffs who execute their works sincerely to protect the rich natural resources which God have greatly blessed us. “Let us not create a history which our coming generation will be ashamed off. We pray that Bohoto and his family the including the staff of the NZP will continue to serve our society sincerely in the days to come,” PCF stated in the note.
