Hindi Pakhwada Closing Ceremony on September 29

Dimapur, September 27 (MExN):
Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti Kohima will organise Samapan Samaroh (Closing Ceremony) of Hindi Pakhwada (Hindi Fortnight) on September 29, 1:00 pm in State Academy Hall, PR Hill, Kohima.
A press note from the in-charge Hindi Cell, Jagdamba Mall informed that Sentiyanger Imchen, Commissioner & Secretary, Horticulture, Geology and Mining will grace the occasion as chief guest while V.K. Girijavallabhan, Accountant General and Chairman Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti Kohima will preside over the function wherein all the Heads of all Central Govt. offices stationed at Kohima will join the grand ceremony along with the subordinate officials and staff.
The Nagaland Hindi magazine (9th edition) will be released and certificate and cash prizes to winners of various Hindi competitions, Hindi and non-Hindi speaking both, will be given by the Chief Guest. A troupe of 50 artists from NEZCC Dimapur will present various colourful items.
The school students and children of Central employees will also present the programme. The principals of 20 Hindi Teaching/Training Institutes and individuals committed for promotion of Hindi in  Nagaland shall be honoured by the chief guest with shawl and Maan-patra (Certificate of Honour), the note said.

NSF warns perpetrators

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN):
The Naga Students Federation (NSF) has expressed serious concern on the unprecedented increase of crime and kidnapping incidents in Naga society and has vehemently condemned the September 21 crime, where another student of Trinity School Dimapur had been abducted for ransom by some anti-social people. The Federation in a press note issued by I. Mangyang Jamir, Secretary Finance and Chipakhuyi Rhakho Education Secretary has sternly warned the perpetrators for using students’ community as soft target for their self vested interest which cannot be tolerated at any cost. In this regard, the Federation has appealed all section of society to remain vigilant and jointly aid in uprooting such heinous crime as the issue possesses a serious threat to the whole section of society.
The federation in taking serious note of the crime further urged the concerned authority and the administration to give its best sincerity and effort in tackling the menace and book the culprits at the earliest where the Federation has sensed that a well established network of gangsters is operating in the commercial hub creating a sense of insecurity to the citizens.
 
Free treatment for patients with cleft lip or palate underway at Oking Hospital

Free surgical treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate got underway here at the 72 bedded Oking Hospitals & Research Clinic, Kohima. This free treatment got start today in compliance with the launching of Smile Train Shija Cleft Project- Nagaland Mission last week. Kicking start the initiative, a screening camp was conducted today at Oking Hospital, Kohima where three patients with cleft lip and palate have been operated. Treatment is absolutely free like regular free screening camps, free medicine, and accommodation for patients at Oking Hospital, professional staff for taking care of patient needs and free periodic follow up of all operated cases at Kohima.
