Ten arrested in different cases

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN):
The Dimapur district excise and prohibition enforcement personnel led by inspector of excise along with 12 other personnel conducted a surprise raid on liquor tents and booze joints located in front of Namghar Trust Board School, Dimapur. Following the raid, the team seized 125 bottles of IMFL-750 ml; 44 bottles of IMFL 180 ml; 55 bottles of Beer 650 ml; 70 liters of ZU & Rohi. In this connection eight (8) accused persons were arrested and penalized as per relevant section of NLTP Act ’89. Further, the two accused persons Jagat Ch Nath and Rafik Ali both of Kamrup district, Assam were arrested by the Excise check gate duty party in connection with the seizure of 1540 kgs of contraband ganja. They have been forwarded to judicial custody and booked under relevant section of NDPS Act ’85.  This was reported in a press release issued by Dimapur Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition

Seized liquors destroyed at Mkg

Dimapur, September 29 (DIPR):
176 cases of IMFL and 40 cases of assorted Beers sized in Mokokchung and Mangkolemba town were destroyed by the Members of Destruction Committee at the ADC Judicial Office premise on September 22. The sized liquors were destroyed in presence of Marlemba, Public Prosecutor & Chairman, Destruction Committee, Dobashis, and representatives from Mokokchung Baptist Church and Ao
Students conference.

Social Work for Oriental Colony residents

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN):
The residents of Oriental Colony, Dimapur have been informed that a mass social work will be conducted on October 1. Therefore, the residents are directed to gather at the Tri-junction (behind Government College) at 5:00 am sharp. Anyone failing to attend the social work will be fined as per the Council resolution.

NNC (NA) responses to CKS and Chang community

Dimapur, September 29 (MExN):
Responding to Changkhulei Setshang (CKS) and Chang community, NNC (NA) has stated that since ‘kilonser’ Yanchomong is an eminent member in the organization, it is not possible for NNC (NA) to relieve him from the service. A press note from the NNC (NA) issued by its advisor Kumcho stated that it learned that ‘kilonser’ Yanchomong, was asked “to take rest due to old in age or domestic problems etc”. “…we also much appreciated of your concern over him, although as a member in our set up he is bearing a high post and responsibilities such as a core member in the N.N.C (N.A) more over he was one of the founders of the N.N.C among the Naga National workers with the senior most leaders in Nagaland. As such, we the N.N.C (N.A) member requested your (CKS) to support and encourage him to uphold the nation for the betterment of our future (sic),” stated the press note.
