Police Commemoration Parade today
Dimapur, October 20, (MExN):The Nagaland Police is observing the Police Commemoration Parade along with the rest of the country to honour those police martyrs who made their supreme sacrifice in the service of the country at 9:00 am on October 21 at Tennis Ground, Poice Neew reserve, Phesama, Kohima.
NSCN K Chakhesang Region Commander & seven others join GPRN/NSCN
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 20 (MExN): Lt. Col. Veswusayi Lohe, Khaplang group's Chakhesang Region Commander, Kuosato Dozo, Region Secretary and six other members namely Cunezo Demo (Razou Peyu), Sgt. Major Khrunetso, Sgt. Maj. Chivosa, Corporal Kuzota, Corporal Thupusa and L/Corporal Vesakhoto joined GPRN/NSCN, fulfilling their aim of serving the Naga Nation meaningfully. This was informed in a press note issued by MIP. It was stated that for months they were misinformed and misled by confused Khaplang members who have lost track of the reality with regard to Naga Reconciliation process. “Self realization and desirous of achieving the cherished dream of the Naga people, they have decided to sever all ties with S.S Khaplang followers and serve the Naga Nation under the esteemed Leadership of President Gen. (Retd) Khole Konyak and Gen. Secretary N Kitovi Zhimomi”, stated the press note.
Youth Red Cross Unit launched
Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): The Youth Red Cross unit of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma was formally established on October 19 at 2:00 pm by conducting an induction and pledge programme with general secretary of IRCSN Zakie Kire as the guest of honour.
A press note stated that the programme was chaired by counselor Youth Red Cross, Kohima Science College Neivotsonuo B. Kuotso, who also welcomed the gathering. A short speech was delivered by Dr. Vituo Belho, principal of Kohima Science College while a special song was presented by the students. The general secretary of IRCSN while speaking to the students stated the great things are done by people who do not expect any personal gain. Stating that the Red Cross was born of a desire to help and serve the sick, the needy and the vulnerable, he welcomed the Members of Youth Red Cross to the Red Cross family and congratulated them for volunteering to serve humanity. Member M.C, IRCSN Kholie Dolf read out the pledge along with the newly inducted members while Counselor of Youth Red Cross Dr. Tiakaba Jamir, proposed the vote of thanks.
V.K. Area unions appeal GPRN/NSCN
Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): The V.K. Area Union Dimapur, V.K.Area Youth organization and the V.K.Area Students Union feverently appeal to the GPRN/NSCN Government to secure the safe release of Aron Kits who was apprehended on October 15th 2011 at Kohima. In a joint press release issued by Kheto, President, V.K. Area Union Dimapur , Kiyeto Shohe, General secretary, V.K. Area Union Dimapur , Vikeshe Shohe, President , V.K. Area Youth organization and Amento Chishi, President, V.K. Area Students Union stated that the three Unions urged the higher authorities of the GPRN/NSCN to honour and advocate the Naga peace and reconciliation process for peaceful co-existence and the union strongly believe that the GPRN/NSCN Government will extend humanitarian consideration in dealing with him and pray that he may be released as an act of sympathetic action.
EATACOL appeals to NSCN (K) and Azheto
Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): The Nagaland State Entrepreneurs Associates Thrift and Credit Cooperatives Federation Ltd (EATACOL) had appealed for amicable conclusion of the imbroglio between the NSCN (K) and Azheto Zhimomi, Advisor, Cooperation & Sericulture, Government of Nagaland. Neichute Doulo and Tiatemsu Longchar, Managing Director Chairman, Board of Directors through a press release had appealed for the ‘Goodwill’ and ‘Good Reason’ to prevail in our dynamic Naga society. It was also stated that Nagas need goodwill at this juncture of our history more than ever and that goodwill will prevail where Public Leaders will have free and healthy mind and movement to work for the people without any tension.

Kohima, October 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services Association held its 8th annual general meeting on October 14 last at Kohima fire station. Central executive members and representatives from nine fire stations across different districts of the state attended the meeting. Fire & Emergency Service SP Neilasa Sopfü stressed upon various organizational and developmental aspects for the welfare of the association as well as the department. He dwelled upon pertinent issues relating to insurance, promotion and seniority list and other welfare programmes. During the discussion hour, various issues such as review and amendment of constitution, inclusion of advisory board, insurance, GPF and other related issued pertaining to the welfare of the members of the Association were deliberated upon.
