Sechü Zubza VC joint meet of landowners  

Dimapur, June 27 (MExN):
The Sechü Zubza Village Council has convened a joint meeting of land owners and land patta holders on July 2 at 2:00 pm at the Village Council Hall. The meeting has been called to  discuss matter relating to the construction of the proposed four-lane-road passing through the village. The Village Council Chairman, Neikuo Sechü and Secretary Beiselhoukho Suokhrie have requested all the concerned to attend the said meeting.

Family Expelled

Dimapur, June 27 (MExN):
On Saturday, a man along with his whole family was driven out from Kuda village, Dimapur. The man was being accused for attempted rape and indecent exposure. Kuda Village ‘B’ khel chairman, Atuo Khate in a press release has identified the man as one Sonku Biswas. His family had been residing in Kuda ‘B’ Khel, Nagarjan till now. The Chairman has also announced that, in any case if Sonku Biswas or his family is sighted in the village, then the council will not be responsible for any further consequences or eventualities.

Air India announces rescheduling for Tue

DIMAPUR, JUNE 27 (MExN):
The Station Manager of Air India Ltd Dimapur has informed that in view of operational reason, Airbus flight AI 705 of June 28 would operate at 1250HRS from Dimapur Airport for DMU/CCU. Hence all joining passengers of flight AI 705 of June 28 are requested to report for check-in formalities at 1120HRS at Dimapur Airport. Furthermore, all passengers of cancelled flight AI 743 of June 27 (DMU/CCU) are also requested to report for check-in formalities at 1120RHS at Dimapur airport for flight AI 705 of  June 28 for DMU/CCU.
 
CCSU 49th mid term session adopt resolutions

Dimapur, June 27 (MExN):
The Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) today stated that it shall ‘take care’ of the performance of VEC and WEC and take action if necessary. Under VDB scheme, both youth and women share should be utilized judiciously, the CCSU stated in a press note issued by its deputy speaker, M. Mongba and Assembly Secretary B. Naro as resolved in the 49th CCSU mid term session was held on June 24.
The union has also adopted the resolution that any teacher under Chang jurisdiction shall not be nominated to any social initiatives that affects his or her duties. The CCSU expects all government educational institutions under Chang region to play an important role in moulding the fate of the coming generation.  Further, CCSU resolved that there should be no killing of wild life within Chang jurisdiction from the month of arch till November. “Strict action will be initiated against the defaulters,” the union added.
 
Report of narcotic drugs seizure 2002-2010

During 2002-2010, a number of narcotic drugs likes Ganja, Heroin, Brown Sugar and Opium have been seized in the state. This was revealed during the International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking held at Tseminyu town on Sunday. The seizure includes; Ganja- 1, 43, 690 kgs, Heroin- 5 kgs 750 gms, Brown Sugar- 2 kgs 294 gms and Opium 64 kgs 468gms.
Referring to modus operandi, Jatila Jamir, SP Narcotic Cell said the system adopted by smugglers in the case of Ganja is that it is packed by polythene papers containing 10 kgs to 20 kgs and transported by empty oil tankers, heavy vehicles by scheming special cavities. The other mode of transportation is light vehicles in small quantities concealed with green vegetable and other essential commodities.
In case of Opium, it is transported in lumps weighing 1 kg or more by wrapping in polythene papers and concealing in sacks, bag or on the human body itself.
Heroin and Brown Sugar items has been detected in the past in large quantity but in recent times only small quantities have been detected from peddlers and addicts.
 
Seven arrested, arms seized in Dimapur
 
Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): The Dimapur police alongwith IRB patrol party and the Assam Rifles in two separate cases have arrested four persons for possession of illegal arms.
On June 24, a patrol party of Dimapur Police and IRB personnel arrested two persons from Rail Bazaar area on charges of possession of illegal arms, informed a press note issued by Additional Superintendent of Police of Dimapur.
The note stated that the accused have been identified as one ‘ss lieutenant’ Mughavi Zhimo of NNC and a Tovishe Yeptho. One 7.65 MM pistol with five live rounds of magazine with one demand note for financial assistance issued in the name of NNC was recovered from their possession.
Also, on June 25, troops of 24 Assam Rifles arrested two person from Ghorapatti area while conducting routine MVCP. The arrested duo was identified as one Mughato Sema and one Aheto Sema.
The duo were traveling in separate motor cycles – one bearing R/No NL07E 8733 and the other without registration number. They were stopped by the security force and on checking found two .22 MM pistol with magazine, one 7.65 MM pistol with two magazines, three rounds of .22 MM ammunition, 250 grams of suspected contraband Heroin, four counterfeit currency of Rs 500 denomination, tax collection receipt of ‘ministry of chaplee affairs’, tax collection receipt of Government of The people’s Republic of Nagalim, ministry of kilo affairs, tax receipt of FGN and cash Rs 560.
Cases have been registered against the accused of both the incidents.

Two extortionists
apprehended

Dimapur police acting on information from reliable source that some criminals were demanding money from shops located near Duncan Bosti apprehended two accused. They have been identified as one Ponathung Lotha and one Tseromo Lotha.
Five tax receipts of Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim, ministry of kilo affairs and cash amounting to Rs 2000 were recovered from their possession. A case has been registered against the accused in this connection, the note said.

PULF Cadre arrested
One PULF cadre was arrested on June 25 by a combined team of troops of 164 TA Naga Regiment and Dimapur Police in a joint operation near Faith Hospital, Dimapur.
The accused has been identified as one Md Altaf from Imphal East and presently residing at Dhobinalla in Dimapur. On interrogation, the accused revealed that he is a cadre of the Manipur based insurgent group PULF and presently operating in Dimapur. In this regard, a case has been filed, informed the press note.
 
One nabbed

One person was arrested with 371 cases of IMFL at Peducha Check Gate this afternoon at around 1:00 am. Police said liquor included McDowell whisky, rum and beer hidden in the truck bearing regd. no. MN03-T-0043.  The driver Syed Muhibur Rahman of Sora Karanchi village, Thoubal district, Manipur was arrested in this connection, source said.
