The Pfutsero Area Vegetable Committee has appealed the Kohima Municipal Council and Dimapur Municipal Council not to impose stringent tax on farmers transporting their vegetables to other towns for sale. Stating that they should look into the welfare of the farmers by imposing only a minimum of Rs.20-30/- at check gates, it, however lamented that they had been taxing Rs.200-300 for a mini truck of vegetables, which makes it difficult for the farmers to earn any profit.
