Bhanu Bhakta Acharya birth anniversary July 13
Kohima, July 9 (MExN): The 197th birth anniversary of Nepali famous poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya will take place on July 13 at the State Academy Hall, Kohima. Cultural shows, poem recitation, dances and many other activities will be featured by various renowned artists in commemoration of the programme. K.K. Chhetri, IAS, commissioner, tourism, Government of Manipur and Rajiv Dong, Wing Commander, Deputy Director, Rajya Sainik, Kohima will grace the occasion as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. IMFL seized
Kohima, July 9 (MExN): The excise duty party at check gate Kohima headed by Akum AIE and Videho head constable and arrested 3 persons- Chisho Sema, Akholi Chakhesang and Atolie Chakhesang for illegal possession of 480 bottles of IMFL (750m) on July 6 last.This was stated in a release issued by superintendent of excise & prohibition, Kohima.
PWD (R&B) & (H) W/C employees demand release of salaries
Kohima, July 9 (MExN): The All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & (H) W/C Employees Association has demanded for immediate release of W/C employees salaries under NPWD (R&B) & (H) department. The Association has requested the head of department for early release of W/C staff salaries as the employees are facing acute problem of the long pending salaries from December 2010 till date. The Association prayed to the higher authority to kindly look into the matter and release the salaries at the earliest on or before July 20 “failing to do as demanded, the Association may start agitation against the department.”
DSSU elects for new tenure
Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Dimapur Sumi Students on June 2 held its election of new office bearers for the tenure 2011-2013, at the science centre, Dimapur. According to the press release by Vitoka Awomi, newly elected President, D.S.S.U., the new team of office bearers are: V.P- Hutoshe Kits, G.S.- Hutoka Shikhu, F.S.- Pitovi Ayemi, Speaker- Kakhiho A. Faith in Action Foundation meeting on July 11
Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Faith in action foundation will hold an emergency meeting on July 11, between the parents of Faith in action team and the executive members of the foundation at 10:00 am, Immanuel Hall Y. Zhimomi colony, Signal Basti, Dimapur. Deep Kumar, founder of the foundation, in a press release, requested all the parents to attend the meeting without fail. Also, the Faith in action team expressed its gratitude to Andree Erasmus of Indian airlines Kolkata and their President Akavi Zhimomi for helping out during their stay in Kolkata to participate n India’s Got Talent season-3. The team was selected for the next stage in Mumbai this month.
Green dreams conduct plantation drive
Tuensang, July 9 (DIPR): The members and volunteers of the Green Dreams conducted the second phase plantation drive at Noklak town on June 25. More than two thousand siblings have been planted in and around the town area. The Green Dream an environment organization which was launched in 2010 is a voluntary environmental organization with its object creates awareness about the climate change and global warming in the rural areas. It is to be noted that the organization has also planted more than five thousand siblings in 2010. SDO Soil, Lithemo for donated the siblings to the Green Dreams.
