JE demands for rightful 40% promotion opportunity

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN):
The Junior Engineer (JE) under the Power Department through Nagaland Power Subordinate Engineer Association (NPSEA) and All Nagaland Diploma Engineer Service Association (ANDESA) has convened their grievances to the state government for restoration and fulfillment of 40% criteria in promotional opportunity laid down in the Service Rules.
A press note issued by senior JEs, Department of Power, Nagaland mentioned that four of the JE cadres SDO who were promoted to SDO on 40% quota retired by the last part of 2010, and whose vacancies were supposed to be filled up by promoting senior JEs. The note stated that the department promoted only two JEs and left the other two denying their rightful promotion, for which repeated representation were submitted to the government, that its share/quota should not be advertised but be given to its member implanting 40% quota fairly.“The indifferent attitude policy adopted by the state government towards the association has compelled the association to bring its grievances and appeal to the concerned department/authority to stick to the service rules/norms. Now the department is expected to act sincerely while filling up the vacancy so that no one is discriminated,” further stated the note.

NTTU on removal of check gates

DIMAPUR, JULY 20 (MExN):
The Nagaland Timber Trader’s Union (NTTU) has conveyed appreciation to the “welcome step” taken by the state Home Department to withdraw all check gates, except inter-state check gates, in the state. NTTU in a press release also expressed gratitude to Home Minister Imkong L Imchen for the latter’s initiative to curb menace of rampant extortion in Dimapur as well as illegal taxation at check gates.
“The recent order of the home Department to withdraw all check gates, except inter-state check gates, is a landmark decision, one which will go a long way in alleviating the plight of common man,” NTTU said. NTTU said that every section of society including timber traders, small-time farmers and businessmen will benefit from the order to withdraw check gates.
The union also said the order also reflected DAN government’s concern for the plight and welfare of public in general. Further, NTTU called upon “Naga national governments” to always think about the welfare of general public in their activities and dealings.

Chenwetnyu council lauds youths  

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN):
Chenwetnyu Village Council, Mon, appreciates Longshoho Youth Alive Mission, Chen, for organizing an advocacy on HIV/AIDS in the village on July 8, sponsored by the Legislators’ Forum on AIDS, Nagaland. A note from the village council received here said 250 people participated in the event, ‘showing that the programme was a well-organized one.’ The council encourages the youth organization to continue sensitizing the rural masses of Chen’s areas in the future.

FGN Sumi Region discharges one

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN):
The office of the Midan Peyu, Sumi Region, FGN has discharged one Mughato Yeptho, from Henivi Village under Dimapur district in the rank of Leacy from active national service on medical grounds. This was informed in a press note issued by Vikihe Zhimo, Midan Peyu, Sumi Region, FGN.

CAKYO flays assault

Dimapur, July 20 (MExN):
Chakhro Angami Kuda Youth Organization (CAKYO) denounces what it alleges is the assault of a youth, one Gwakenye, resident of Aokong colony in Dimapur by a GB of the colony on July 13. A note from the CAKYO said today accused one GB Yarmong Ao of assaulting the youth “on a mere suspicion of stealing a mobile belonging to his daughter.”  The organization appeals to the district administration to take action against the GB.
