State Level Seminar on “Atrocities against Women” on July 29
Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Women Commission and Department of Women Development Nagaland are organizing a one-day State Level Seminar on “Atrocities against Women” on July 29 at The Heritage (Old DC bungalow) from 8:30 onwards. It will be conducted with special emphasis on “Constitutional Rights of Women, Protection of women from Domestic Violence Act, Role of Police in Safeguarding Women’s Rights and Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act”. The Governor of Nagaland will be the chief guest and Additional CS& Commissioner Banuo Z Jamir will be the guest of honour.

CPO flays rape and murder incident
Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): The Chakhroma Public Organisation has condemned the horrendous and gruesome rape and murder of 20 year old girl in her own residence on July 21 at Kirha Village. A press note issued by its general secretary Dr N Simon stated that the CPO urges the authorities to leave no stone unturned in their efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest. CPO also appealed to all section of the society to cooperate and facilitate with the investigating agencies to swiftly apprehend and “award stringent punishment so as to deter depraved prowling criminals from committing horrific crime of this nature from our society in future”.
Executive Engineer, Electrical Division Kohima informs
Kohima, July 26 (MExN): The Executive Engineer, Electrical Division, Rukongutuo Suoho has notified general information of the electrical consumers under Electrical Division, Kohima that this Division has started the exercise of disconnecting the defaulting consumers with effect from 25 July. As such all the consumers who have not paid their bills are requested to clear their pending bills immediately in order to avoid disconnection and payment of additional amount in the form of ‘Disconnection and reconnection” charge. The press note added that the disconnection drive will be rigorously taken up till all the defaulting consumers are disconnected. Consumers are also warned not to indulge in illegal as this will invite penalty in the form of fine or imprisonment as per the Electricity Act 2003.

Six arrested and penalized under NLTP Act
Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): The District Excise and Prohibition enforcement personnel conducted a surprise raid on booze joints in and around Nuton Bosti area, Dimapur on July 26, 2011 and recovered a total of 67 bottles of IMFL & Beer and 290 kgs of Zu & Rohi. A press note issued by Superintend of Excise & Prohibition Dimapur, Pitongse Sangtam stated that in this connection six person were arrested and penalized as per the relevant sections of the NLTP Act’ 89. The duty party was led by Inspectors Khevito Swu, and Toshiho Yeptho along with 12 other excise personnel.

Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): The ministry of chaplee NSCN/GPRN (Khaplang), in continuation with its earlier statement on assignment of financial matters, through its MIP has authorized leacy Hukhevi Yeptho and leacy Shikato Achumi to supervise the 5 percent of its share derived from all contract and supply works in Zunheboto district. It stated in a press note that the duo can be contacted at 9436616066 and 9089552275. The chaplee ministry also informed that its secretary in charge of finance Akato Yeptho can be consulted in case of any confusion or clarification at 9402993566/9436643343 for matters pertaining to finance.
