
Panel discussion on benefits of breastfeeding today
Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): To commemorate the observance of World Breastfeeding Week from August 1 to 7, Doordarshan Kendra, Kohima in collaboration with National Rural Health Mission, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland will be presenting a 30-minute panel discussion on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding. The programme will be telecast on Friday, August 5 at 7.30 pm on Doordarshan Kendra, Kohima.
Chungtor Village Council informs
Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): The Chungtor Village Council has informed that the maintenance of road work under Department of Development of Under-develop Areas (DUDA) has been suspended due to incessant rain till late September. The council has appealed the public and “any interested individuals” to visit the said with-held work site in order to avoid any misunderstanding by publishing fabricated information, stated a press note issued by its chairman Lipongchem Sagtam
GB Union Dimapur
Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): The GB Union Dimapur has stated that it is very unfortunate that the union was not informed of the farewell programme of outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Maongwati Aier. Terming the lapse, as perhaps due to communication gap, the union expressed regret it could not thank him for all the help he has rendered to the union. “He took keen interest in our work and gave us valuable advices and solved many of our problems. We pray the Almighty God to guide and help him in all his future endeavour, stated a press note issued by Yeheto Zhimomi, general secretary, GB Union Dimapur. Meanwhile, the union also welcomes new DC N. Husheli Sema, IAS to Dimapur who is also the second Naga lady to hold that coveted post. “We look forward to working with her as with her predecessors. We pray that under her administrations Dimapur district will be an example for other cities to follow,” further stated the note.
ANATU Zbto Unit extends support
Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): The ANATU Zunheboto Unit has unanimously resolved to stand by the decision of its parent body and to extend its fullest cooperation until and unless justice is shown by the government. ANATU Zunheboto Unit General Secretary in a press release commented the central ANATU officials as well as ANSTA Nagaland for earnestly pursuing the case on behalf of thousands of marginalized teachers who have been ignored by the government till today. Meanwhile, the Unit has convened a meeting on August 6 at the EBRC building Zunheboto at 10:00 am. All ANATU members in the district are hereby informed to attend the meeting positively. Further, all the members who have not paid their annual membership fee of Rs 300 are also reminded to enroll their membership during the meeting.
Mon NPF presidents meet CM
Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): A team of NPF leaders comprising of Presidents from all the nine A/c’s under NPF Mon Division had call on the Chief Minister Rio, Dr. Shurhozelie, President and Apong Pongener, Working President on July 17 and 18 at Kohima. A press note issued by BP Hanghuh general secretary NPF I/C of Mon Division, stated that the delegates apprised the leadership on the party organization and activities at the A/c level. On behalf of the people of Mon District, the team expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Chief Minister for all round development, and for ushering in peace in the district of Mon since 2003. The note also mentioned that the delegates placed on record their commitment and resolved to stand behind the leadership of Rio and Shurhozelie for the forthcoming assembly election and to work fervently for the party. The NPF team from Mon Division was led by BP Hanghuh General Secretary NPF I/C of Mon Division.
