Field workers demand salary
Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): The All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA) today demanded that the government release salary for five months of work-charge employees in the Power department. The association demanded that the salary, till the month of July, must be released on or before August 20. Failing to comply with the demand would invite the association to act, a note from the ANEFWA stated today. The work charge employees have no other means of income and are solely depending on their salary and they can not serve the public without their wages, the association stated.
NSACS to launch third phase of Multi-Media Campaign
Kohima, August 10 (MExN): Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) will launch its third phase of multi-media campaign (MMC) in the state with the objective to create greater visibility for the issues of HIV and AIDS, to encourage safe and responsible behavior among the youth, reduce the level of stigma and discrimination by demystifying HIV and ADIS, promote HIV/AIDS related services and increase general awareness about HIV and AIDS. The launching programme of MMC will be held on August 12 at Heritage complex at 1:00pm.
One nabbed, 1722 IMFL seized
Dimapur, August 10 (MExN):The Diphupar Police with the IRB patrol party while conducting MVCP at 3rd Mile, Dimapur recovered one .22 pistol with three live rounds on frisking a pedestrian from his possession.
The Additional Superintendent of Police, Dimapur in a press note informed that the accused was sent taken into custody by the police. The accused has been identified as one Kisheto Awomi of Pimla village. A case has been registered under the Arms Act in this connection and further investigation has been taken up.
IMFL Seized
In continuous effort to check the sale of illegal IMFL, the Diphupar Police under its jurisdiction has seized a total of 1722 bottles of different brands of IMFL in four separate incidents during the month of July and August.
The note stated that on July 30, two seizures were made in which 888 bottles of IMFL were seized from the possession of four accused identified as one Katoho Sumi, one Aketo Sumi, one Vikeshe Sumi and one Hoks Sumi.
In the second indecent, 102 bottles were seized from the possession of accused, one Vinod Rai and one Rita Basumitra. Again on August 6, 624 bottles of IMFL were confiscated from one Robin Singh. The accused were arrested and forwarded to the court after registering cases in these connections.
