Major reschedule of flights from Dimapur

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN):
The Station Manager Air India Ltd Dimapur has informed that the departure time of AI9751 on August 21 for Dimapur/Imphal has been revised to 1015 hrs. Joining passenger for AI9751 have been requested to report for check in at Dimapur Airport at 0900 hrs. Further the departure time of AI9752 on August 21 for Dimapur/Gauhati have been revised to 1155 hrs. Joining passenger for AI9752 have been requested to report for check-in at Dimapur Airport at 1030 hrs. Meanwhile, due to operational reason AI 9702 for August 21 (DMU/CCU ATR Flight) has been combined with AI 709 and revised departure time of AI 709 now stands 1300 hrs for Calcutta. All passenger of AI 9702 &  AI 709 have been requested to report for check-in at Dimapur Airport at 1130 hrs.

Covenant Baptist Church pastor informs

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN):
Pastor in charge of Covenant Baptist Church Dimapur Dr. Athang Leivon has informed that the Covenant Baptist Church welcomes all believers to attend the English Worship Service every Sunday at 4:00 pm held at NMM Building 316 Fellowship Colony, Dimapur.  The Speaker for Sunday, August 21 will be Rev. Dr. Timothy Lee, Chairman-Asia Pacific Baptist Federation Mission Committee”.

AKM organizing Teacher’s Day Celebration

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): 
The Ao Students’ Conference is organizing the 50th Teacher’s Day Celebration in collaboration with the District Education Officer (DEO) and the District Inspector of School (DIS) Mokokchung on September 5 at Town Hall Mokokchung. In this regard the Ao Students’ Conference request all the Head of the institution of the concern school in Mokokchung town to submit their teacher’s list at the earliest to Education Secretary (AKM) or contact 9856872293.

DMC drain clearing drive at United Colony

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN):
DMC advisor incharge of Ward 20, S. Heno along with the staff of DMC Sanitation branch carried out drain clearing drive at United Colony on August 18 and 19. Drains clogged by garbage were causing inundation during rain. DMC team was assisted by council members of United Colony led by its Chairman H. K. Sema. One of the member said that the drain along main road was never cleaned since it was constructed. The main outlet of the drains is located near Fishery office near Nagarjan Police point, which is narrow to allow free flow of large volume of water during rain and because of which Nagarjan road near Fishery office is flooded during heavy rain. Chairman, United Colony Council, H K. Sema said that the council has approached DMC for assistance to expand the main outlet of the drain. He said about 150 houses in the colony were affected due to overflowing of drains and inundation. The council has thanked the DMC and advisor S. Heno for cleaning the drains in the colony.
 
NNC/FGN, PSR observe 65th Naga I-Day
 
Phek Village, August 16 (MExN): The Phek Sub-Region (PSR) of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) had observed the 65th Naga Independence Day Celebration at Phek Village on August 14 with Shevohu Keyho, Kilo Kilonser FGN as the chief guest.
The formal function which starts at 10.00.AM onwards was chaired by Leacy, Chakhesang Region Eno. Nushehu Hoshi follows by observing of obituary references. Eno Nuchicho Venuh, Pastor, PVBC read the scripture and invoke God’s blessing. The day was enlightened with Indigenous tune presented by Shevozo Soho & co and indigenous entertainment presented by Phek Village Youth Society (PVYS) and Phek Village Women Society (PVWS) respectively.
Mention may be made that leaders of different frontals from different corners attended the historic occasion. Meanwhile, National message from NNC President Eli. Adino Phizo was read out by the chairman. 
 
DIPR mourns demise of official
 
Kohima, August 20 (DIPR): The officers and staff of the Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Nagaland Kohima today held a condolence meeting to pay their respects and honour late Kumkiuba Yimchunger, News Assistant who passed away on August 19 evening at Dimapur after a brief illness. Late Kumkiuba Yimchunger had joined the IPR department on deputation from the Department of Youth Resources & Sports in 2009. The Director of IPR in a condolence message said that though his stay with the department was for a very short period he was a very sincere, punctual, devoted and a humble staff and would be remembered with fondness.
During the condolence meeting, the officers and staff of IPR recalled the departed colleague as a simple, humble and dedicated official who was liked and respected by all in the Directorate. In his demise the department has lost a dedicated staff, a loyal friend and a good human being, his colleagues lamented. The officers and staff present condole his wife and children and prayed that God would give them the solace and the courage to bear the great loss.  The mortal remains of late Kumkiuba Yimchunger was taken to his native village, Chessore for the last rites. He leaves behind his wife and six children.
 
Booze joints busted in Dmr

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN):
The Dimapur District Excise and Prohibition enforcement personnel conducted a surprise raid on booze joints in and around DC Court area and Super Market area in Dimapur on August 20.
During the raid, the duty party recovered and seized a total of 177 bottles of IMFL, beer and 60 litres of 'Zu and Rohi'. In this connection 15 accused were arrested and penalized as per the relevant sections of the NLTP Act’ 89, informed the superintendent of Excise & Prohibition , Dimapur.
 
Denial by rape accused flayed
 
Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): The Kirha Women Society has slammed the statement of the rape accused Bekuto aka Beto Zhimomi, denying charges against him as “totally false and baseless”.
Responding to the news published on August 20 in a local daily, “One arrested for rape, murder”, where the accused Beto Zhimomi revealed to the police that the crime was committed out of jealously as he suspected  Avino of having an affair with another man. The Society has denounced the statement of the accused stating that late Avino and her family neither knows him and nor had any cordial relation.
“Such kind of sadistic act should be awarded with capital punishment, so that this kind of act would not occur in our society again,” it retorted.
Also, the society has thanked the Diphupar police department and all the other Organisations. “We especially thank Among Jamir, OC; K. Rengma; Yalie Angami; Yawao Konyak, for their effortly contribution in arresting the person involved in rape and murder of Lt. Ms. Avino. We strongly anticipate your support and further help,” it stated.
 
KLRSU condemns mob attack
 
Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): The Kyong Lower Range Students’ Union (KLRSU) has condemned the attack on the life and property of Yanthamo Murry of “Marapani Foot Hill” under Bhandari sub-division at his residence by a “non-local mob”.
The union in a press note issued by its finance secretary Albert Yanthan alleged that the accused were ‘Muslims’, who were assisted and mobilized by the Muslim traders of Wokha district. Yanthamo Murry was injured while trying to save himself from the unruly mob.
The union has also flayed the incident where nine Naga youth were assaulted by the same mob, stating that the nine youth who are employees of a private firm in Chennai were on the way to their village when they were attacked. Also, vehicles were damaged and property worth several lakhs was destroyed. The union also claimed in the note that the muggers “orally insulted the Nagas”.
In relation to the incidents, the union has called upon the citizens of Wokha districts to support the indefinite Bandh along “Wokha Marapani Road”.
