ASYA affiliated to YAN

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) informed that All Sumi Youth Association (ASYA) is now affiliated to YAN and henceforth function as one of the units of the Association. This was informed in a press note issued by YAN convener Victo Chishi.

Cooperative Societies under Peren informed  

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): All the chairman/secretary of Registered Cooperative Societies (Department of Co-operation) under Peren district are informed to bring their original bye-laws of the society, for verification and for necessary information, at the Office of the “Sub-Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Peren, Nagaland within October 15 to 30 without fail. This was informed by Peren, Sub-Registrar of Cooperative societies Lemba Chang.

Joint workshop on NLRM

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): A joint workshop on National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) for Mizoram and Nagaland states in collaboration with Ministry of Rural Development, GoI is being organized on October 13 and 14 , 2011 at Niathu Resort, 7th Mile, Dimapur. The following officers are to attend the workshop without fail as directed by the government : All the project directors DRDA’s Nagaland, all the programme officers incharge of SGSY, DRDA’a Nagaland and all the BDO’s Nagaland. This was informed in a press note issued by project director, DRDA Dimapur.

KDSEA inform selected entrepreneurs

Kohima, October 13 (MExN):The Kohima District Selected Entrepreneurs Association (YOE 2010-11) requested all the selected entrepreneurs who had undergone training under the year of entrepreneur 2010-11 to submit their project report to DIC Kohima on or before October 20.
The Association will not be held responsible for those who fail to submit their project report on time, a release received here said today. The Association further requested all those selected entrepreneurs who are yet to pay their registration fee for both the district level and state level to pay at the earlier to; Oriental Trade Agency, Stationary Division, Opposite Rutsa Bakery, Old NST Kohima.

NIIT Dimapur invites NIITians

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): All NIITians who have completed their courses and are looking forward to a job outside Nagaland or are looking forward to be an entrepreneur are requested to attend a special session with the Centre Director on Monday October 11 at NIIT Dimapur Centre at 2:00 pm. SKE elects office bearers

Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): The Seithekiema Kyong Ekhung (SKE) has elected its office bearers for the tenure 2011-14 with chairman N. Nchubomo Ngullie, vice chairman Yontomo Shitio, secretary R Yanthanshan Kikon, joint secretary Merisao Tsanglao, finance secretary Zachamo Ezung and treasurer Phyokhamo Kikon. 
 
WATSAN Committee conducts social work
 
Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): WATSAN Committee of Pfutseromi village organized a mass social work on October 12 as a part of the resolution of the committee to such work in and around the village quarterly and to create awareness among the villager about importance of proper sanitation.
The WATSAN committee in a short programme appreciated the villagers for using proper latrine and appreciated the centrally sponsored Total Sanitation Campaign programme and the state PHE department for funding the village to maintain proper sanitation. The committee is proud to declare that the village has proper latrine (100% latrine in the village) in all the houses, the committee informed in a press release. Rev. L. Ritse, Pastor Pfutseromi Baptist Church encouraged the villagers on importance of cleanliness. In conclusion, the WATSAN committee appeals the Youth Society of the village to take the lead in maintaining proper sanitation in the village.
 
KVK organises training on vegetable crops
 
Dimapur, October 13 (MExN): KVK Dimapur organised one day training cum demonstration programme on “Vegetable Crops” at Dhansiripar village on October 11.
During this programme, V.Kenny Rhetso (SMS, Home Science) gives the scope and importance of cultivating the vegetable crops and also its nutritive value e.g Spinach are rich in iron and helps in preventing anaemia especially in women.  Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower and Laipatta provides high amounts of vitamin C and soluble fiber and contain multiple nutrients with potent anticancer properties. These vegetables also contain goitrogens, which suppress thyroid function. This can induce hypothyroidism and goiter. Juice extract from cabbage is helpful for diabetic patient, stated a press note issued by programme coordinator Anamika Sharma.
The note stated that Z. James Kikon (SMS, Soil Science) delivered the importance of Soil and Nutrient Management and also advised the farmers to select vegetable fields which have light texture, loose, friable soil and rich in organic matter. H.D Singh (SMS, Horticulture) demonstrate the farmers of the village scientific nursery raising and various cultivation practices. Seeds of high value vegetable crops like Broccoli, Capsicum, and Celery were distributed to the Jalkund beneficiaries under NICRA project and other vegetable crops like Cabbage, Spinach, Carrot, Pea, Onion and Radish were also distributed to the farmers.
 
Women urged to earn through creativity product

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 13 (MExN):
Skill development training programme on water hyacinth based craft organized by NEDFi in association with Indigenous Cultural Society and sponsored by North East Council (NEC) was concluded successfully at Indigenous Cultural Society centre.
Hukheli T. Wotsa, president, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur graced the valedictory programme. The chief guest in her speech exhorted women to earn through creativity product and live an independent life economically. She stress on proper and systematic plan for better production and insist not to remain only a consumer. Impressed by the skillful craft of the trainee she said Naga women are not behind others in any ways. She also advocated 33 % women’s reservation and urged womenfolk to strive for the cause.
The programme was chaired by Esther Phucho, invocation :Khesheli youth pastor Ghonivi village experience sharing by artisan Kahoni Y. Chishi and vote of thanks pronounced by: Dr. Hesheto Y. Chishi director ICS. Altogether 30 artisans completed the training successfully.
