IMFL seized
Kohima, October 18 (MExN): The excise department under Phek has conducted a surprise checking in Pfutsero, Chozuba and Chetheba Town on October 13 and 14 last. The surprise checking was headed by Inspector of Excise Pfutsero H. Berimong and Neizeizolie Inspector Phek alongwith Sechoba AIE, Yanpungrhomo AIE, Neikolo H/C, Khriesizo H/C, Videto, Sepelo, Ruokuoneilie, Besuneyi, Heitung. The checking party seized 76 bottles of IMFL and accused persons were booked under the relevant sections of NLTP Act 1989. Further, the department informed that similar checking would be conducted again.
Dmr Govt College principal informs
Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): The Principal of Dimapur Government College has informed its Commerce students of Class XII to fill the exam forms for NBSE examination with effect from October 17 to 31 during office hours. No forms will be entertained after the stipulated time.
Piggery farm school at Meluri
Kohima, October 18 (MExN): A programme for piggery farm school inauguration- cum- demonstration on piggery and poultry vaccination took place at ATMA Meluri Block at Meluri on October 14 last. The programme was chaired by Sanenpfü Magh, SDAO Meluri, BTT convenor Meluri Block. Keynote address was delivered by Nekholü Rhakho BTM. Resource person Dr. Vekuto Sema, veterinary assistant surgeon Meluri, BTT member stressed talked on the topic “Management practices of piggery. The programme was followed by demonstration on piggery and poultry.
NRHM Health mela at Peren
Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): The public of Peren District has been informed that a Multi-speciality Health Mela sponsored by NRHM (IEC) will be conducted by the District Health Society, Peren on October 20 and 21 at Tening PHC. The press note issued by the NRHM informed the public to come and avail the various health services. It was also mentioned that specialists like Obst &Gynae, medicine, child specialist, EYE and dental will be present to examine the patients. Apart from the free health check-up and medicines, other services like lab facilities, on spot immunization and various Family Planning services like lap-ligation, Cu-T INSERT IGNOREion, free condoms and Oral pills distribution will be available. During the Health Mela Focus Group Discussion and Inter Personal Discussion will be done by the IEC wing sated the note.
ANPWDFWA adopt resolution on release of salary
Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): The All Nagaland PWD Field workers’ Association PWD(R&B) & Housing held its general meeting on October 13 and 14 at Circuit House Conference Hall Dimapur. Inakhu Aye. President, ANPWDFWA and K. Atovi Awomi, general secretary, ANPWDFWA in a press note stated the different points adopted in the meeting.
It was stated that the house unanimously resolved to appeal the Finance Commissioner to release the monthly salary of the W/C employees within the 1st week of November 2011, observing delay in payment in monthly salary as per the government office Memorandum No BUD/4-2/2011-12 dated Kohima April 21, 2011. The association also resolved to take up the regularization of W/C employees service those who have completed 15 years and above in service. The house resolved to wait and watch the decision of the Government as the matter is under process Vide Chief Ministers’ Secretariat Letter No.CMN/16(B) Housing/2011 Dated 5th April, 2011 till next sitting of the cabinet.
It was also mentioned in the press note that the houses thoroughly deliberated on the disadvantages due to existence of two associations in one Department and after prolonged deliberation, the house unanimously resolved that there will be only one association in one Department. All Nagaland PWD field workers’ Association PWD (R&B) and Housing is the registered Association of the Department Vide Regn No ED/GSS/RS/2033/91-92(Pt) dated 24/03/1993 and it was stated that the same shall remain and execute its activities for the interest and welfare of the W/C employees and its bonafide members.
The association also declared the names of the elected the presidents/secretaries and Audit committee members of different division. Lithrongchim Sangtam was elected as the president for Kiphire division, L.Khekuto Aye, was elected as the president for Dimapur division and Zubemo Lotha was elected as the general secretary for Wokha division.
The note further stated that the association also expressed its gratitude to NPF Government for making efforts in granting monthly salaries to the W/C employees and regularization process for the W/C under the dynamic leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland and Kaito Aye, Minister for Road and Bridges. The association had also given certificate of appreciation to B.K Alum Chang, president of PWDFWA Tuensang Districts for his dedicated service rendered towards the association since the year 1997 till date. It also expressed its thankfulness to the editor Nagaland Post for deploying media person for the meeting for wide publication. The association, in the note, appreciated respective Unit presidents, secretaries and members for their kind presence and co-operation
Kathin Chibor Dan Festival 2011 observed
Dimapur, October 19 (MExN): The “Dimapur Buddha Vihar” under the banner of “Society of Dhamma Bodhi & Meditation”, has celebrated the “Kathin Chibor Dan” Festival 2011, at Kevija-U Village, Signal Bosti, Dimapur on October 16 at the premises of the Society of Dhamma Bodhi & Meditation, Dimapur.
“The Kathin Chibor Dan is the most righteous offerings to the Venerable Bhikkhus. On this occasion, the Bhikhus (Monks) are given Chibor or Clothes to wear. People believe that this is the best of all gifts. Generally, the Bhikhus community are prefer to wear the cloth that colours of red flowers, as it is different from the cloth that ordinary people wears. The Kathin Chibor Dan develops social harmony, creates cooperation and teaches the people how to improve friendship amongst themselves,” stated a press note.
The note stated that on this auspicious occasion, amongst other monks, the president & working president of All Assam Bhikhu Sangha, Ven. Bichitra Mahathero and Ven. Bimalankur Mahathero respectively attended the function and delivered speech about “Kathin Chibar Dan Festival & Panchasheel (i.e.abstain from killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying & intoxication/gambling) to be adopted by the devotees of Lord Buddha”. The function concluded successfully followed by cultural programme and quiz competition on among the kits on the life of Lord Buddha.
Farmers trained on winter crops
Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): With the objective to impart package of practices on scientific cultivation of winter vegetable crops, a two days training cum field visit was organised by ATMA Tuensang on October 13 and 14 at CKS Hall, Tuensang.
The resource persons were BTMs Moainla, Sentimenla, Nuchet and Wodangbeni Kikon, Dy PD ATMA. The topics covered during the training were integrated pest management and nutrient management on tomato, potential of cabbage production in Tuensang, technological support for promotion of pea production in Tuensang and formation and promotion of commodity interest groups (CIGs).
The farmers visited KVK Tuensang farm where field demonstrations were conducted by KVK SMSs Martina and Imtilemla and Ilika Achumi, farm manager on cabbage, carrot, peas, French bean, vermicomposting and kiwi and apple plantation. Interactive sessions were held which involved inputs from the farmers, discussions and sharing of experiences. Later, winter vegetable seeds were distributed and Ims
unaro BTM delivered the vote of thanks. Altogether 64 farmers including friends and SHGs members were trained along with BTT members and BTT convenors during the training programme. This was stated in a press release issued by Dr. Vikshe Sumi, Dy PD ATMA, Tuensang.
VHC exposure tour to Mokokchung
Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): Communitized health centres of Phek district under the Department of Health & Family Welfare organized an exposure tour to Mokokchung on October 14. The purpose was to exchange ideas and views and to learn for better performance and improvement in their efficiency for maintaining their health centres. The team members consist of Dr. Watikala chief medical officer of Phek, Dr.Neisako Kire DPO Phek, Tarep Dy. MEIO including VHC chairman and secretaries from Phek Block, stated a press release.
It stated that the team visited IMDH, Mopungchuket SC, Kumlong SC and Aliba SC. During their visit to the health centres the team looked at the record maintenance and interacted with the health workers, VHCs, village councils and church representatives. During the interactive session at Mopungchuket Rev. Pona Jamir, VHC chairman stated that so far the achievements of the health centre was due to the support and coordination between the health workers, VHCs, village councils, church leaders and community who in time rendered their services in cash and kind for the maintenance and functioning of the health centre. He also added that transparency was being maintained when it comes to utilisation of funds. Medicines are purchased according to the seasonal demands and requirements of the community.
Rev. Pona added that to mobilise community Participation the health workers and VHC members should be dedicated so that the communities are encouraged for participation. He also encouraged the members to become a key person in sharing their experiences with other fellow members for the improvement of the health centres at their own district.
At Aliba village, the VHC chairman mentioned that the VHCs supervise the health centre from time to time to check the regularity of the staff. And the deduction made from the absentees salaries are being utilised for the maintenance of the sub centre. Apart from this he said that many of the facilities in the health centre are being donated by the community. Members from Phek block appreciated the performance carried out in the health Centres and the contributions made by the community towards the upliftment of the health centre.
