Doyang fish sale on Sept 29

Dimapur, September 28 (MExN):
The District Fishery Officer Kohima in a press note ahs informed that there will be a sale of Doyang fish at P.R Hill Junction, Kohima on Thursday, September 29, 6:30 am onward by the Department of Fisheries. Price Rs.100/kg.

NASU undertakes edu tour

Kohima, September 28 (MExN):
The Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU) had undertaken an education tour under the theme “Education & Good Will” from August 23 to September 16 last visiting all the 54 Govt. established schools under its unit, which comprises of 20 villages. During the tour the NASU executives and senior leaders interacted with the students, Village Education Committee (VEC), Village Councils, teaching staffs and parents with the objective to foster quality education. Further, NASU has committed to take up the genuine issues compiled during the tour. Discrepancies such as lack of teacher, shortage of teaching staffs and lack of basic infrastructures which needs immediate redressal by the concerned authority, the Union said.  his was stated in a release issued by Kehounei-u Theünuo, convener, education committee, NASU.

Seminar on right to free & compulsory edu on Sept 29

Kohima, September 27 (MExN):
The State Council of Education Research & Training (SCERT), Nagaland will be organizing a one day seminar on right to free and compulsory education (RTE) Act, 2009 at DUDA Guest House, Kohima on September 29 at 10:00 AM. This is a crucial programme primarily meant for discussion with NGOs and to include participation of senior officers of school education, SCERT, NBSE and SSA. Commissioner & secretary for school education and SCERT Imkonglemba Ao, IAS, will be the chief guest, who will also take part in the discussion. Kevi Liegise, joint director RTE & training, SCERT will deliver keynote address. Speech will also be delivered by N. Khevito Sema, director, school education. This was stated in a release issued by SCERT director Vipralhou Kesiezie.

Animal health care cum vaccination camp held

Dimapur, September 28 (MExN):
KVK Dimapur organised a two-day animal health care cum vaccination camp for livestock and poultry at Dhansiripar village, Dimapur under the NICRA project on September 8 and 13. On September 8 a total of 150 households were visited and vaccinated 250 numbers of pigs against Swine fever. A total of 200 local birds were also vaccinated against Ranikhet disease. On September 13 around 250 cattle, 50 buffaloes and 75 goats were vaccinated against FMD (Foot and Mouth Disease). Besides the vaccination, animals were treated against skin infections, diarrhoea, bacterial infections and parasitic infestations.

NPF Phek Div general convention

Kohima, September 28 (MExN):
The Naga Peoples Front (NPF) Phek Division will be holding its general convention on October 13 at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall Chozuba Town with 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency NPF as the host. The general conference will be attended by 200 members from each Assembly Constituency. All the five Legislators along with the senior party leaders from Phek district will address the Convention. Mention may be made here that the Convention will highlight the achievements of the Party in the district and also announce future plans of the party for the district. A new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-2014 of the division along with the constituency and village/town units will also be declared and approved during the general convention. All the concerned party functionaries have been requested to attend the convention without fail.
 
NRHM conducts advocacy with TDMA
 
Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The State Health Society, NRHM, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland held a one day advocacy and sensitization programme with the Tuensang District Mothers Association on September 27 last. Speaking at the programme, Y. Alepla Chang, Executive President of Tuensang District Mother’s Association thanked the Department for organizing such a programme and stated that representatives from Chang, Sangtam, Phom and Yimchungru tribes were present to know more about the activities of the Department through the advocacy.
Giving an overview of NRHM, Puni Kokho, State facilitator, NRHM said that National Rural Health Mission was launched to provide better health care services to the doorsteps of the people. He said the outcome of Reproductive & Child Health I necessitated a change of strategy for RCH II and therefore NRHM was launched in 2005 to bring about holistic health care delivery system to the general public especially to the rural sections of the society. He informed the participants about various programmes implemented under NRHM such as streamlining and management of hospitals/health centres, the ASHA programme, Village Health & Nutrition Days and providing additional manpower such as doctors, nurses and manpower for management support at state, district and block levels.
 
Trg on poultry rearing held

Dimapur, September 28 (MExN):
The ATMA Peren Block had organized one day training on rearing of poultry in rural area and demonstration on livestock, feeds and fooders and on Eri food plants on September 27, 2011 at GPS, Puilwa old with participants consisting of around 22 farmers from New Puilwa and Old Puilwa Village.
A press note issued by Dr.Rokozo Dolie, Convenor, ATMA Peren Block stated that the training was chaired by Deitholhu, BTM and the resource persons were Dr.Rokozo(VAS,Vety) & Azuto,E.O.(Seri) and BTT Member who dwelt on poultry rearing in rural areas and demonstration on livestock feed and fooders and the latter on Eri food plants. The training concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Itome,VEC Member puilwa old village.
