
Annapurna beneficiaries informed
Kohima, February 18 (MExN): The Annapurna beneficiaries of Kohima Sadar and Chiephobozou Centre have been informed to collect their respective six months quota from Kohima office godown by producing ration cards. The distribution will be made from February 22 to 21 March between 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Those beneficiaries who find difficult to collect by them may authorize their respective village council chairman/secretary for collection by producing ration cards. Those beneficiaries finding difficulty in collecting may authorize their respective chairman, a release received here said.
VP, ACCI resigns
Kohima, February 18 (MExN): Vitsalhou Kesiezie, Vice president of ACCI, Kohima District has resigned from the active and primary membership of the Congress party owing to added responsibility in the village, as he has been recently elected as the Village Council Chairman of Mengujuma village, Kohima district. In a release, Kesiezie while thanking the party leadership and his colleagues for their support and cooperation, regretted his inability to continue.
31st ACCC Akuluto condemns
Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): The 31st ACCC strongly condemns the firing incident in which Khekato Kinny (Leacy) of GPRN/NSCN fired at Jepika Kinny, son of Kheto Kinny MLA. The 31at ACCC in its emergency meeting unanimously condemned such dastardly act when everyone is yearning for peace. The party urged upon the concerned authorities to initiate appropriate action without delay. This was stated in a press note issued by Hethana Kinny G.S. 31 ACCC Akuluto.
16 AR organises medical camp
Dimapur, February 18 (MExN): According to a press note issued by the Assam Rifles, the 16 Assam Rifles under HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles under HQ IGAR (North) organised a medical camp at D’zulake, Henumbe and Pulomi Basa Village Community Hallson February 5 and 6. The medical team assisted by paramedical staff of the unit conducted the camp providing free medical and dental check-up along with treatment and free medicines to 140 villagers from the remote villages. The villagers were also advised on hygiene and sanitation aspects by the doctor and his medical team. A special emphasis was given on screening for TB, Malaria and HIV and awareness on AIDS & other Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The villagers of the area expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for this humanitarian act.
NCSU sympathizes
Kohima, February 18 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) Head Office Kohima expressed its solidarity over the unfortunate fire incident at the official residence of the Chief Minister of Nagaland on February 8. A note issued by Pele Khezhie, President, NCSU and John Kath, general secretary, NCSU stated that this incident causes lot of inconvenient to the family members in particular, and a great loss to Nagas in general. The Union expressed deepest sympathy to the Chief Minister family members.
AR dental camp at Pedi conducted
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 18 (MExN): A free Dental camp was organized by 32 Assam Rifles under HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (North) at Pedi village of Peren District on 12 Feb 2011. A team comprising of two doctors and paramedical staff from the unit conducted the camp providing free dental check-up along with treatment and free medicines to 46 villagers from Pedi and adjoining villages. The villagers expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for this humanitarian act. The Press Release has been issued by Lt Col RP Velu, PRO, IGAR (N).
