Remain focused to common greater good: Z Rohim

DIMAPUR, MARCH 21 (MExN): Z Rohim, President of the UNPG-NNC/PB, in a message, on the occasion of the 66th Naga Republic Day, pay tributes to the sacrifices of the Naga people, who championed the Naga cause.

He said, “I extend my prayers to the families that have lost sons and daughters of the soil and I assure you that such act of selflessness will forever be inked in the pages of our Naga history for all times to come.”

He recalled that it was on March 22, 1956 when the Naga National Council became a full-fledged Peoples' movement and today, after many years of trials and tribulations, “we now have come ever closer to the dawn of the long awaited solution.”

He made mention of the NTC, NGBF, Tribal Hohos' and various other organizations for facilitating the path “wherein the Government of India has recognised our Historical and Political rights to self determine our future in consonance with our distinct identity.”

According to him, the Government of India and the WC, NNPGs have concluded negotiations on Ocotober 31, 2019 after working out all modalities. “What remains now is the final and official declaration by the GOI and as such, I urge the facilitators and Nagas to remain focused to the common greater good and be cautious of the evils that try to derail and hijack our cause.”
