Restore garbage collection in East Dimapur, urges EDBA

Dimapur, May 31 (MExN): The East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) has expressed concern over the disruption of garbage collection services in East Dimapur and urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to restore regular waste collection.

In a press release, the association stated that the business community and traders had already paid sanitation fees for the full 12 months during the renewal of their trade licences. However, it said that "garbage lifting services have reportedly come to a halt," creating difficulties for businesses in managing waste and maintaining hygiene around their establishments.

The EDBA maintained that the accumulation of garbage "not only affects the cleanliness and appearance of the commercial area but also poses potential health and environmental hazards." It added that traders and business owners are finding it increasingly difficult to handle the growing waste burden without regular garbage collection services.

The association appealed to the concerned authorities to "take immediate corrective measures and ensure the prompt resumption of regular garbage collection services."

The EDBA further stated that timely action would help “maintain a clean and healthy environment for businesses, customers, and the general public.”
