Resurrection Sunday greetings

Nagaland Joint Christian Forum

The Nagaland Joint Christian Forum conveys the Resurrection Sunday greetings to all the churches and believers in Nagaland.

Romans 6:9 states, “For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.” Jesus rose from the dead and overcome the world of darkness.

In the same manner, may we exhibit that power in our everyday lives and be a witness to the power of the resurrection. We have been commanded and commissioned into the world when Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto me; therefore, go into all the world…and preach the gospel, … and whoever believes shall not perish but have everlasting life."

The gospel is not only about salvation but also how we conduct ourselves as believers in Christ. It is about how we practice our faith in our daily living, loving our neighbors and doing good to others.

As we celebrate the Resurrection Sunday may be come out of our personal construction of being Christian to a biblical construction of Christianity. It is in this line, the NJCF appeals to all Nagas to practice love and work on establishing a society of peace and justice. We appeal to communities that are in loggerheads with each other, throwing venomous words of hatred and self justification, rather work on building bridges and establish points of contact for negotiation.

This Resurrection Sunday is a reminder that we cannot do it on our own. And for much too long we have taken things into our own hands, trying to do things in our own way and in our own wisdom. We have made reconciliation a business as if that is the way to settle our animosity towards each other. But peace and reconciliation come from knowing God’s will and doing his will. May this Resurrection Day reminds us of the sacrifice he has made for us and be “reconciled to Him” and actualizing in our brokenness, seeking forgiveness from God and from each other.

As our celebration of Christmas culminates with Resurrection on this day, bringing us hope for eternity future, may we humble ourselves in true worship. May we find hope and, may the power of the resurrected Lord be manifested in our lives. The NJCF bless you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray for the peace of the world and peace within our own community.

May we become a forgiving community and not just be a professing Christians.
