Kohima, August 15 (DIPR): Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio distributed tractors to 18 beneficiaries during the flexi banner exhibition and distribution of tractors and power tillers under Planning, Agri & Allied Departments under the theme “Agriculture and Allied Sectors” as part of the Independence Day celebration at the Nagaland Secretariat Plaza on 15th August 2011.
Distributions of tractors and power tillers to farmers under Chief Ministers Corpus fund started during the “Year of Farmers” in 2006-2007 to compliment the activities of the Agri allied departments. During the last five years the Government distributed 170 tractors 230 power tillers. During the current year too the Government would be distributing tractors and power tillers to progressive farmers and organizations.
Fourteen departments’ also took part at the Flexi Banner exhibition, showcasing their programmes and achievements.
