Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit will be launching “Mukti–Up For Hope, Down for Dope” campaign on August 28.
Guwahati, August 25 (MExN): As illegal intake and substance abuse has become a bigger menace amongst the youth of the state, the Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit has come up with a unique Anti-Drug Campaign across the state in a bid to curb the social hazard.
As per a press release from Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit, the club will launch “Mukti–Up For Hope, Down for Dope” campaign with a motto of #DrugFreeYouth in memory of Late Justice BP Saraf who was the Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir.
The campaign will be launched by Governor of Assam, Professor Jagdish Mukhi on August 28 at Don Bosco School, Pan Bazar with host of eminent personalities in attendance from Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.
The campaign chaired by Rtr Shivam Saraf & Rtr Tushar Jalan as Advisor, is supported by PD Pasari Foundation, Assam Roofing, and Star Cement.
In the next 12 months, the club stated that it will be focusing on 6 educational institutions and cover 10000 youth directly/indirectly.
The campaign would be covering the youth in educational instructions and colleges as various surveys, reports by Government or non-Governmental Organization indicated that Guwahati has become a major hub of drugs intake amongst youth in recent years due to easy availability of the drugs, ruining lives on a daily basis.
The campaign would be using innovative ways to reach out to the students at various educational institutions or colleges that include – Music, Drama, Dance, Interactive Seminars, adding such activities will physically & mentally involve them “instead of big boring lectures or scary campaign which has been the trend until now,” it added.
The Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit would be focusing on tie ups with Organization working on ground for this cause in near future.
