
Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State Branch in collaboration with the IRCS National Headquarters and ICRC conducted a three days safer access-basic course on first aid for the volunteers of the District Branches from September 27 to 29 at ATI, Kohima.
Twenty six volunteers from eleven district of Nagaland attended the training. The main objective of the training was to mobilize volunteer enrollment and to equip them with life saving techniques so that they can respond to any eventualities. The resource persons for the training were- Dr. S. Imkong Tushi Ao, Member M.C IRCSN, Dr. R Zinyü, Member MC IRCSN, Kholie Dolf, Member MC IRCSN, Dr. Kehousetuo Kuotsu, Ortho Specialist, Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima, Lucy J. Tungoe, APO IRCSN and Aja Zinyü, ICRC Programme Co-ordinator.
Various topics on administering first aid to an injured were taken up along with practical sessions and group exercises. Besides first aid topics on Red Cross Movement was also taken up. The training was also assisted by the Home Guards & Civil Defence Kohima led by SI Matsung.
The valedictory function was held on September 29 with Dr. Kepelhusie, Retd Director, Medical Services, as the chief guest where he encouraged the volunteers to come forward with a willing heart to help anyone in need. He later distributed certificate to the volunteers. Kholie Dolf, Member MC IRCSN closed the training session by pronouncing the vote of thanks.
