Punglwa, June 27 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa held its investiture ceremony for the academic session 2024-25 on June 27, appointing 41 cadets to key leadership roles, including three girl cadets.
The event, presided over by the school principal, saw the pipping of stripes to the School Captain, School Adjutants, and other appointees. The newly appointed cadets took an oath to uphold their responsibilities in assisting school authorities.
In addition to the leadership appointments, the ceremony recognized academic excellence. Top-performing cadets from each class were awarded gold, silver, and bronze torches for securing first, second, and third ranks, respectively.

The Melak House (Junior Category) and Tizu House (Senior Category) were awarded the prestigious Cock House Trophy for their outstanding performance in inter-house competitions.
The chief guest in his address motivated the appointments to live up to the expectation of the appointments they hold. He also advised them to set examples and leave a legacy that inspires other cadets.

The event also honoured two Associate NCC Officers (ANOs), Keshav Adhikary Chhetry and Sunil Kumar for their achievements. ANO Chhetry was awarded Best Trainee Officer in Physical Fitness for his outstand performance during his training at OTA Kamptee, Maharashtra from February 3 to March 19 and ANO Sunil Kumar was recognised for his contribution to NCC and was awarded Best ANO Award for the North-East during an NCC Award Ceremony for North East at Guwahati on March 25.
The school’s bi-annual newsletter, ‘Voice of the Young Warriors of Morung’ (VYWOM) was also released during the occasion.
