SCC Tuensang faculty tackle entrepreneurship during FDP

Tuensang, February 25 (MExN): The Sao Chang College (SCC), Tuensang conducted a five- day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Entrepreneurship from February 19-23 under the project “Establish, Develop and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) and Incubation Centre(IC) in the Educational Institute of North Eastern Region.

The FDP was sponsored by North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong, Government of India and organised by Entrepreneurship Development Centre, SCC.  The nodal agency of the project is Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati.

A press release from the SCC Media Cell informed that during the inaugural session on February 19, SCC Principal Dr Lanurenla briefed about the importance of organising the FDP and followed by first  technical session with resource person Lemkhaba, Assistant Professor, Department of Education SCC  gave an  “Introduction to Entrepreneurship.” 

“Success story of Local Entrepreneurs”  was shared by A Alemla, Local Entrepreneur, Tuensang while Tongpangkokla Chang, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Botany, SCC stressed on “Leadership and Team Building” by highlighting  leadership and stages involved in building a good team. 

On second day, Chongshen Chang, Director, Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) and Samuel I Chang, a member of ECS respectively enlightened the participants about the society’s  role in the field of entrepreneurship and Development of business model. 

Vishak, Member of ECS also gave a presentation on “Market Research and Analysis” by focusing on  about the 4P’s of marketing- Product, Price, Placement and Promotion. 

During “Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Business,” Yimtsusangla Issar, Advocate, enlightened about the legal responsibilities to comply for Startups.

Dipak Nath, Assistant Professor & HOD, Department of Physics, SCC also gave a presentation on the topic “Intellectual Property Rights.”

Day-III dwelt on “Understanding the Entrepreneurial Support System with reference to Systematic government schemes” by Sarei  Muinao, LDM, LBO, SBI Tuensang while  Tsiachitho Kajiri, Assistant Branch Head, Northeast Small Finance Bank gave a talk “Financial Statements”. 

Nungsangtola, Assistant professor, Department of Physics, SCC also shared on “Marketing and Sales” and some key strategies to boost business and drive sales.

The day-IV saw a presentation “Technology Infusion and Emerging Enterprise Development” by Sangmei Choba, Director of Digital Morung, while Toninaro, Assistant Professor Department of Sociology, SCC spoke on the topic “Pitching and Presentation Skills”. 

It concluded with Rangbenkumla, Assistant Professor, Department of EVS, SCC stressing on importance of “Networking and Relationship Building” by highlighting strategies for developing authentic connections.

President Local Entrepreneurs Association, Tuensang (LEAT) P Chingmak Chang on the last day highlighted the   “Entrepreneurial Scope and Opportunities in NER” with SWOT analysis and its importance in various fields.  He also shared about the potential and opportunities in Tuensang district citing business examples of honey, coffee, millets, etc. 

Dr Yelhi Vero, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Dimapur Government College  highlighted on “Import and Export Procedure” where he  dwelt  on economic  policies of India, particularly foreign trade. Mudang Khiamniungan, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, SCC, meanwhile, discussed about “Social Responsibility and Ethics” in business.

All together 15 participants from different institutes of Tuensang Town took part in this programme, the release added.
