Niuland, May 12 (MExN): Training of para-veterinarians and farmers on Livestock Insurance Scheme NLM 2025-26 was held at Town Council Hall, Niuland on May 11.
The programme commenced with a welcome speech, followed by a keynote address by Chief Veterinary Officer, Niuland, Dr Hokato K Yeptho, stated a DIPR report. The programme was organised with the theme “Insure your Livestock, Secure your Livelihood,” and was attended by 10 Para-Veterinarians and 42 farmers from 20 villages across Niuland district.
Dr V Qhelitoli Sema, District Livestock Development Officer (DLDO), delivered a comprehensive presentation covering the key benefits, procedures, and guidelines for enrolling livestock under the insurance scheme. The Branch Manager, SBI Niuland, Imliwati Ao, also addressed participants on the importance of insurance and maintaining proper financial accounts to facilitate easier access to agri and allied loans.
The programme aimed at creating awareness and encouraging farmers to safeguard their livestock and livelihoods through the available insurance provisions under the National Livestock Mission.
