Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): A mobilization and sensitization programme on RKVY scientific farm was held on July 14, 2011 at New Wokha Village, the proposed site (Thumratchu area) for implementation of RKVY in compact area.
Rovilatou Mor, Deputy Commissioner Wokha delivering the keynote address, emphasized on the uniqueness of the project where Agri & Allied departments will for the first time come together to implement farmer oriented activities in a compact area. He encouraged the framers that the project is a two-way process, requiring farmer’s active production and department’s cooperation, to make the project a model for other farmers and districts to emulate.
Deliberating on the action plan, Chalukhumba, DSCO emphasized on the need for effective management of soil and water for maximum production and productivity. Sacheo, AO presented action plan for Agriculture and stressed on the need for quality seeds and mechanization. Sanen Pongener DSO and Lichumo Murry presented action plans for Sericulture and DoLR respectively.
