Sheyipu Baptist Church officially kicked off its 100-year centenary jubilee (1926–2026) on April 24 marked by the inauguration of several developmental initiatives in the village.
In commemoration of a century of Christianity, a village gate at Sheyipu–Aghunato junction was inaugurated by Akukatou Hetovi Zhimo. The programme began with an invocation prayer by Alovili, APC, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Council Chairman Akukau Vikaho Zhimo and a dedication prayer by Pastor Aboka.
Following the gate inauguration, a one-way road was also inaugurated by Akukau Piyeto Zhimo. The dedicatory prayer was offered by Hokhuli, APW, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Akukau Sheyipu Zhimo. The inaugural day concluded with the hosting of the jubilee flag at the church compound.
The April 25 event will begin at 3:00 pm with the dedication of a jubilee monolith by Rev Kughato K Chophy, Executive Secretary of SBAK-NM. This will be followed by a formal session, where Rev Chophy will deliver the message, and a souvenir will be launched by Rev Hekheshe Zhimo, Pastor of Zutovi Village Baptist Church.
The main jubilee celebration on April 26 will feature K Tokugha Sukhalu, IAS (Retd), MLA and Advisor for Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Meterology, and Consumer Protection, Chairman Urban Local Bodies & Village council committee GoN as the special guest. Rev Dr Hevukhu Achumi, Founder Principal of Academy for Theology and Missions, Thilixu Village, will be the main speaker. The programme will conclude with a jubilee feast.
The closing programme will again be addressed by Rev Dr Hevukhu Achumi as the speaker.
