Kohima, August 18 (MExN): The 1985–1988 batch of the South India Biblical Seminary (SIBS), Bangarapet, began a four-day alumni reunion here on August 16, commemorating 38 years since their graduation, with a call to renew their commitment to Christian mission work across India and the world.

The reunion, hosted by Koinonia Baptist Church (KBC), Kohima, featured a special welcome programme on August 18 at the Koinonia Prayer Centre, Tsiesema Basa, themed “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits” (Psalms 103:2), according to a press release.

Addressing the gathering, Rev Dr Zotuo Kiewhuo, Founder and Senior Pastor of KBC and Principal of Kohima Bible College, underscored the lasting impact of SIBS’s rigorous spiritual and academic discipline. He recalled that while the strict regimen was challenging during student days, it proved pivotal in shaping graduates into dedicated followers of Jesus Christ, contributing to their personal and spiritual growth.

Rev Kiewhuo paid tribute to former SIBS Principal Frankie E Dewey for his mentorship and visionary leadership, crediting him for the spiritual grounding and success of many alumni. He noted that classmates who once faced personal struggles have since become ministers serving in diverse mission fields across India and globally.

Describing the reunion as an occasion to recount God’s faithfulness, Rev Kiewhuo urged alumni to rededicate themselves to kingdom service with renewed vigour and the message of Christ.

The welcome programme was chaired by Meyiengonu Üsou, Evangelist of KBC, with a welcome address by Medotseilieü Kiewhuo, Pastor of KBC. The KBC Women Department presented an introduction, and special music was offered by Kohima Bible College and the Deborah Group.

The four-day gathering, which concludes on August 19, has enabled former classmates to reconnect, share testimonies, and give thanks for nearly four decades of ministry.
