In a coordinated effort to strengthen consumer protection and enforce lawful business practices, a joint inspection team comprising officials from the District Administration (Dobashis), Atoizu Town Council and Atoizu Police, conducted inspections of shops and business establishments across town on August 18. The team examined trade licenses, hygiene standards, and food products on sale. The operation resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of expired food items, which were later destroyed at a designated disposal site to prevent their sale or consumption.

In a surprise goodwill visit, the president and executive members of the Alumni Association of St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, donated Queue Manager Stands and Stainless Steel Benches to their alma mater on August 18. The association’s president, Thepfuvizo Vizo said that the contribution was “a small token of love” to express the alumni’s gratitude to the college. Receiving the gifts, the principal, Dr Fr George Keduolhou Angami, thanked the alumni for their constant support. A 1988 batch alumnus himself, he remarked, “It is good to return with hearts of gratitude and give back to the college in the form of a widow’s mite.”
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Mon Youth Wing Division conducted the “One Nagaland Run-5K” in Mon district on August 18 as part of the state-wide initiative of the NPF Central Youth Wing, under the slogan “Running Together, Growing Together.” The event saw 102 athletes participate in the Open Men’s and Women’s categories. The NPF Central Youth Wing extended best wishes to the qualifying athletes for the State Grand Finale, scheduled for August 22 at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima. Winners in the Men’s Category: 1st Manbo Konyak, 2nd Wangtho C. Wangsa, 3rd Longpa. Women’s Category: 1st Wangya, 2nd Ngongun, 3rd Phamnyu.
