SIP aims to bring IIT faculty access to Nagaland students

Wokha, April 24 (MExN): A meeting of school heads and parents on the School Integrated Programme (SIP) was held on April 22 at the Libemo Memorial School, Wokha campus, organised by NITTI in collaboration with the school. The event brought together school leaders, parents, and educators. 

Speaking as Guest of Honour, Bithungo Kikon, President of ANPSA Central, drawing from personal experience, he spoke about the financial challenges of supporting his children’s higher education and stressed the importance of creating opportunities within the state.

Kikon highlighted that through collaboration, students would gain access to highly qualified faculty from premier institutions such as IITs, IISERs and NITs. He also emphasised that academic success must be complemented by strong moral values and character.

Delivering the keynote address, Er Rishav Sethi, CEO of NITTI Academy, pointed out the difficulties faced by students from Nagaland in national-level competitive examinations. He stated that SIP aims to provide integrated coaching within school hours, guided by experienced faculty, including IIT alumni. The programme integrates the board curriculum with preparation for exams such as NEET and JEE. 

Sethi expressed confidence that the initiative would help students secure better ranks while reducing dependence on external coaching centres outside the state.

Managing Director of NITTI, Ajay Sethi, elaborated on the vision behind the initiative, stating that the programme was designed to bring quality coaching within the school system so that students do not have to leave the state in search of better academic support. He highlighted that SIP focuses on structured learning, regular assessments, and concept-based teaching to strengthen students’ foundations from an early stage.

He further emphasised that the collaboration aims to make education more accessible and cost-effective for parents, while ensuring that students receive national-level exposure. 

Sethi also noted that the programme would continuously monitor students’ progress and provide mentorship, helping them stay competitive in exams like JEE and NEET without compromising their school education.

An open session followed, where principals, heads of institutions and parents shared their views and concerns. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Middle School Coordinator Therali Jami, while Principal of LMS, Surojit Mitra, delivered the invocation and welcome address. A special number titled “Way Maker” was presented by a Class 9 trio. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and benediction by Meribeni Kikon, Junior School Coordinator.
