Nagaland’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll has gained significant momentum, with nearly 95% of Enumeration Forms (EFs) distributed across the State as of 4 pm on August 29.
According to the latest status report of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, 12,88,134 EFs had been distributed against a total electorate of 13,57,208, accounting for 94.91% coverage.
The digitisation process has also gathered pace, with 4,91,346 forms, or 36.2% of the total electorate, digitised.
A total of 799 EFs have been submitted online by electors, according to the latest status report posted on the CEO Nagaland’s social media accounts.
The latest figures mark a sharp increase from August 20, when the first status report showed that only 3,45,233 forms, or 25.44% of the electorate, had been distributed.
Only 22,626 forms, or 1.67%, had been digitised at the time, with the pace of both distribution and digitisation increasing significantly thereafter.
Meanwhile, as per the latest status, form distribution is almost complete in Longleng (99.97%), Wokha (99.95%), Mokokchung (99.87%) and Tseminyu (99.68%), while Mon (84.82%) and Shamator (87.9%) remained below the 90% mark.
In terms of digitisation, Meluri recorded the highest proportion at 52.82%, followed by Kiphire (48.71%), Pughoboto (47.01%), Mon (44.67%) and Tuensang (42.63%).
Noklak (16.87%) and Longleng (19.08%) recorded the lowest digitisation rates, followed by Chümoukedima (25%) and Wokha (27.2%), indicating that while distribution has now reached most electors, the conversion of physical forms into digitised records remains uneven across districts.
Under Phase III of the SIR, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are carrying out the house-to-house exercise, with the distribution and collection of EFs scheduled from August 16 to September 14. The rationalisation of polling stations is also scheduled to be completed by then.
As per earlier official updates, the draft electoral roll is scheduled to be published on September 20, followed by the period for filing claims and objections from September 20 to November 18. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 22, 2026.
