Sitting MLA Karam Shyam of LJP in Manipur announced today that he is joining the BJP. LJP is one of the partners of the BJP-led coalition government.
“I will formally join BJP on November 11,” the Shyam announced during a press conference held at his residence in Imphal today.
He was the cabinet minister of CAF&PD in the BJP-led coalition government until he was dropped by chief minister N Biren Singh when he caused a major reshuffle in his council of ministers last year.
While announcing his switching to BJP, Shyam asserted LJP is no more active as ECI had derecognized the party.
