SKK clarifies statement on Akuluto medicine misuse

Zunheboto, September 26 (MExN): The All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) has clarified that a section of its earlier press statement concerning the reported misuse and re-selling of medicines at the PHC/Health and Wellness Centre in Akuluto was inaccurate, and that the matter actually involved a few OST patients re-selling OST medicines.

“Due to miscommunication, the matter was inadvertently included in our press statement. We sincerely regret any misunderstanding, concern or inconvenience that may have been caused to the healthcare workers, patients, students and the public as a result of the statement,” the Media Cell, SKK said.

The union said it values responsible communication and recognises the importance of verifying information before making it public.

It said the SKK remains committed to constructive engagement with healthcare institutions and the public, and to raising genuine concerns in the interest of better healthcare services and public welfare.
