Zunheboto, March 10 (MExN): The All Sumi Students' Union (SKK) has condemned the alleged robbery at Kheloshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) on the night of March 5.


Personal materials belonging to teaching faculties were also been stolen and damaged, a press release from SKK President Hutoshe Kits and General Secretary, Bokalu V Jimo stated.


Taking into account the incident, the SKK held a meeting with the stakeholders in and around KPA institution on March 7 where it assured to extend “full cooperation during the investigation period.”


As such, the SKK has urged the concerned police station (Officer in Charge) to book the culprit and investigate the case as per the FIR lodged and details extracted from the spot verification.


Meanwhile, the SKK made it clear that the incident should not affect the upgradation of KPA, which is in the process of being upgraded to Engineering College.


The union appealed the concerned department to deploy security without further delay and install police outpost at the earliest.


Seeking support of the citizens for its smooth functioning, it also urged the contractors taking charge of the ongoing civil works and renovation at KPA that quality work must be executed as per the specifications from the work order.


Meanwhile, SKK acknowledged Temjen Imma Along, Minister - Higher & Technical Education, Tribal Affairs for his “tireless efforts and assurance” to uplift KPA to full-fledged Engineering College which has been long pending since the approval of the cabinet decision in 2007.
