Dimapur, January 13 (MExN): Nzon CC defeated Chumou Veterans after a comfortable run chase in the ongoing Senior’s Masters League (SML) 3 night match on January 12.
After winning the toss, Nzon CC opted to field.
Chumou Veterans posted a competitive 139 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs, with Asu top-scoring with 44 runs while Lhoupe contributed 31.
In reply, Nzon CC chased down the target comfortably, led by a match-winning 53 by Yimkhumwati Pongen. He was well supported by Keibueding Nsarangbe, who scored 50, as the pair stitched together a decisive partnership to seal the victory.
For his decisive knock, Pongen was adjudged the Man of the Match.
