Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan (SNSPA) campaign was inaugurated on September 17 at District Hospital Dimapur and will continue until October 2. The initiative spans across 62 Health Units (HUs) in Dimapur, Niuland and Chumoukedima districts, providing a range of medical services and awareness programmes with a focus on female beneficiaries and children.

Under the campaign, free health check-ups, medicines and testing for communicable and non-communicable diseases are being provided. Specialist services have been made available at Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs/AHWCs) to ensure that female beneficiaries receive quality medical care.

The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team has also conducted SNSPA activities in nine government schools, eight Anganwadi centres and organised one free heart screening camp in collaboration with Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Health talks are an integral part of the camps, where experts discuss topics such as menstrual hygiene, anaemia, nutritional diets and antenatal care to educate women about maintaining their health and well-being.

In addition to check-ups, the camps offer free blood tests, including haemoglobin, viral markers, Typidot, malarial and blood sugar screenings. Sanitary pads and iron-folic acid (IFA) tablets are distributed to support menstrual health and prevent anaemia. Aligned with the TB Mukt Abhiyan, the campaign also focuses on tuberculosis screening and expanding the pool of Nikshay Mitras. Routine immunization services are provided to protect against various childhood diseases. As part of the Poshan Maah initiative, informational materials are distributed to promote nutritional awareness, and supplements are provided to support overall health. Efforts are also being made to facilitate Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) and CMHIS/AB PMJAY registrations. Campaign activities are monitored online with daily reporting from health units across the districts.
