Tseminyu, April 17 (MExN): The new office building of the Superintendent of Police (SP), Tseminyu was inaugurated on April 17 by MLA and DPDB Chairman Tseminyu, Ar. Jwenga Seb.
Addressing the programme as the special guest, Seb expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister (Home) Y. Patton for the construction of the office and for completing it on time. He also acknowledged their leadership in conducting the recent police constable recruitment in the State and stated that the process was carried out fairly. “Transparency and merit based system should be encouraged in any recruitment process in the state,” he said.
Director General of Police Rupin Sharma, IPS, in his address spoke on the role of policing in the State and pointed to the limitations of customary laws in dealing with certain issues. He encouraged citizens to make use of the formal policing system and said, “Trust the Police force and come forward with a responsibility by registering crimes in the state.”
Earlier, the programme began with a dedicatory prayer by Pastor Yhunthonglo Khing of Tseminyu Town Baptist Church. SP Tseminyu Talisunep Imchen, NPS delivered the welcome address, while Executive Engineer (PEP) Kohima Division Jenithung Kikon presented the technical report.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Additional SP Tseminyu Lanu Aier, NPS.
