Talk on ‘impact of psychosocial issues among students’ held

Dimapur, October 22 (MExN): The Women Development Cell of Pranab College, in collaboration with the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), organised a talk on ‘The impact of psychosocial issues among students’ on October 22.

The resource person, Dr Temsuyanger, Senior Medical Officer (Psychiatrist) at DMHP, highlighted the need to create awareness among students. The core objectives of the talk were to identify prevalent psychosocial issues such as peer pressure, bullying, addiction to mobile games, and self-generated pressure. Dr Temsuyanger emphasized coping mechanisms like time management, limiting screen time, focusing on spiritual well-being, and maintaining realistic goals. The session concluded with an insightful question-and-answer segment.

Earlier, Mhiephronguno Khate, a Clinical Psychologist with DMHP, conducted a laughter therapy session with the students to demonstrate the importance of stress management.

The programme was moderated by Dr Alomi Cynthia Shikhu, Assistant Professor of Sociology, while the welcome address was delivered by Rina Anal, Assistant Professor of Education.
