The All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has felicitated all the teacher-awardees of the District, State and National levels for being conferred with respective prestigious teachers’ awards for meritorious service. Wishing all teachers a happy Teachers’ Day!
The ANSTA in a note stated that on this auspicious day, when the entire country pays rich tributes to teachers, the association makes an appeal to every member of the teaching fraternity in the state to take time to honestly introspect, examine and appraise one’s own level of dedication and contributions towards students and society, bearing in mind the duties and responsibilities of a teacher, and to resolve to strive harder in one’s profession. The Association, regarding it apt and as an opportune time, requests each and every teacher across the state to observe the day as ‘Rededication Day’.

In a press note issued by its state secretary Lachit Kachari staetd that India has been celebrating teacher day on September 5 since 1962 to observe the birth of Dr.Sarvalli Radhakrishnan , a philosopher and teacher par excellence, and his contribution towards Indian education system. Dr.Radhakrishnan believed that “ teacher should be the best minds in the country”on this day, we gratefully remember the great educationist, apart from honoring all the teachers that have made our life much more knowledgeable and fulfilled, as serving as our beacons of light.
The birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan came to be celebrated as Teacher’s Day when, one day some of his students and friends requested him allow them to celebrate his birthday.In reply, Dr. Radhakrishnan said,’Instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5th is observed as Teacher’s Day’ from then onwards, Dr. Radhakrishnan’s birthday is observed as Teacher’s Day all across India.
Teachers ‘Day is very important for all the people in India as the teachers act as foundation for creating responsible citizens and good human beings. It is impossible to Imagine our lives without teachers they are the cornerstone of our future. We never thank our teachers enough for their immense contribution in our life. Teacher’s Day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and recognition of the hard put in by our teachers towards our development.
