DIMAPUR, AUGUST 27 (MeXN): Additional secretary to the government of Nagaland, Kikheto Y. Sema IAS on Saturday exhorted members of the All Nagaland Drivers & Bodyguards Kohima during their 9th Foundation Day cum prayer fellowship at Yimchungru Baptist Church Kohima.
Observing the current scenario of the Naga society, Kikheto said it was time to appreciate one another where people should do away with the “I” feeling and replace it with the “we” feeling. He said it was also time to strive for love that was greater and deeper than love itself and that it was important to forgive and forget. According to the guest of honour, ‘forgiving’ and ‘forgetting’ should go hand in hand.
Directing his speech towards the drivers and bodyguards, Kikheto impressed them on the enormity of their duty in safeguarding the life of their officers. He said that the use of intoxicants and their nature of duty were opposites and urged them to choose the right path.
Furhter, Kikheto told the gathering drivers and bodyguards not to feel that their job was less significant than others as God has His own way of defining and allocating the strata in society. He said many officers use to wonder as to how would they be managing their daily activities without the drivers and bodyguards.
Apreciating the All Nagaland Drivers and Bodyguards for starting the prayer fellowship several years back, he said such initiative surely could have been God’s will as the instances of drivers and bodyguards getting killed in different situations have drastically reduced. He also exhorted them to sincerely do their duties and follow their ethics.
Later, Rev. Neivotso Neikha mission director Revival Churches of North East India delivered the sermon. The foundation day programme cum prayer fellowship was held under the theme “protection of life” and attended by various drivers and bodyguards, their wives and well wishers.
