Pughoboto, June 5 (MExN): The 4th Annual Conference of the Toti Kivi Cluster Level Federation (CLF) under the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) was held at the Town Hall in Pughoboto on June 5, bringing together village-level organisations, government officials and stakeholders to discuss rural livelihoods and women-led community development.
According to a DIPR update, the conference was attended by legislators, civil society representatives, members of the Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) and various stakeholders associated with rural development initiatives.
Nagaland MLA Dr Sukhato A. Sema, who attended as the special guest, encouraged the CLF and its affiliated Village Level Organisations (VLOs) to strive for excellence and compete for various awards instituted under the federation framework.
Emphasising sustainable growth and accountability, he called for effective monitoring mechanisms, regular inter-lending activities and proper maintenance of records. He also urged members to avail themselves of government schemes such as the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) programmes and the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to expand livelihood opportunities and entrepreneurship in rural areas.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pughoboto, Meyazungba Jamir, who attended as guest of honour, stressed the need for creativity and innovation in a rapidly changing environment. He highlighted the importance of capacity building and skill development to equip members with the knowledge and competencies required for growth.
Jamir also underscored the value of sound business planning and encouraged members to adapt to changing market demands through value-added products and services while maintaining consistency and perseverance.
Addressing the gathering, Block Programme Manager of NSRLM's Ghathashi Block, Dr Kanitoli, spoke on the achievements of the mission and its future prospects. Earlier, Toti Kivi CLF president Yekali H. Shohe delivered the welcome address.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to best-performing Village Level Organisations in recognition of their achievements and contributions to community development and rural livelihoods.
The conference also featured cultural performances, including folk songs presented by Lopivi VLO and Yevuqai VLO of Mishilimi village, showcasing the cultural heritage of the region.
The programme was jointly chaired by Kanili A. Wotsa and Shetoli K. Sheqi, while the vote of thanks was delivered by CLF General Secretary Yevili Y. Sheqi.
Organisers said the enthusiastic participation of members and stakeholders reflected the growing strength and potential of community-based institutions operating under the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission.
