Zunheboto, July 23 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Akuluto has issued a travel advisory regulating vehicular movement on National Highway-702A following road damage caused by incessant rainfall.
According to the advisory issued on July 23, the affected stretch is located at Lumami village on the Zunheboto-Mokokchung road via Akuluto, where restoration work is currently underway. The traffic regulations will remain in force until further orders.
Medium and heavy vehicles, including loaded trucks, pick-up vehicles, buses and other heavy commercial vehicles travelling between Mokokchung and Akuluto, have been diverted through an alternative route via Mokokchung–Longsa–Sapotimi–Zheicuto–Khukiho–Kholehoto–Suruhoto–Ichisaghemi–Naltoga–Ashtikomi–Akuluto, and vice versa.
Light vehicles, including passenger vehicles, have been advised to use the upper approach road through Lumami village, from the Centenary Monument to the LSE Kinimi Building, located about 500 metres from the Lumami village gate. Traffic movement along the stretch will be regulated by the authorities.
The district administration appealed to commuters to strictly adhere to the advisory, drive cautiously, follow traffic signage and comply with the instructions of officials deployed at the site.
